A regularly adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City cf South San Francisco was held in the City Hall ~hursday evening November £0th,192A, at ? o'clock p.m. The board was called to order by Trustee H.F.NcNellis, President of the board. ROLL CAZZ. Roll call found the folloWing trustees p~esent, to-wit;- TrusteeS, C.Blank, F.A.¢n~ingham,H.MoCaffrey, H.F.~cNellis. Absent, Trustees, A.J.Eschelbach: Trustee Eschelbaoh appeared after roll call. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. ~ A communication wa~ received from Wildberg Brothers directing the board's attention to the condition of Butler Road from its Junction with the Bay Shore Highway to its eastern terminus, stating the road is in need of repair and should be attended to before the heavy rains begin. The clerk was instructed to reply stating no action can be taken until after the completion of the sewer system in that section of the city. N0~. RESOL~TI0~ AMENDING AND CONFIRMING ASSES§~ENT. Trustee McC~ffrey introduced a resolution amending and confirming an assessment made by the Superintendent of.~treets undar Resolution of IntentiOn ~, passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco,,, 0Qtober 8th.1923, overruling all objections to and protests against said assessment and accepting the same. The resolution was adopted by the foll- owing vote:- Ayes, Trustees, C.Blank,F.A.Cunningham, A.J.Eschelbach, H.McCaffrey, H.F.~Nellis. Noes, Trustees, None. / Absent, Trustees, None. Attest, Daniel McSweeney, City Clerk. Recorde~ in Book of Resolutions, Vol..2, at page 2~. Fire marshal B.H.Truax reported~s~h~61e in the pavement at the JunctiOn of Linden and San Bruno Road. Referred to street'committeeman/1~iank for investigation and action. · President McNellis brought the board's attention to reports of gambling in certain guart'- · ers of the city and asked action by the board to control the situation. It was the unanimous opinion of the board that City Marshal Belloni be instructed to stamp out gambling whereever found and to move uundezirables from the pool halls and streets of the city. President McNellis suggested that blue prints be furnished by prospective builders whan applying for building permits, and that the Board of Trustees should pass upon the same. On motion regularly carried it was decided that in future all ~equests~.for building permits shall be accompanied. by blue prints and the samesubmitted to the Board of Trustees for consideration. The matter of purchasing supplies next came up. It was decided to have the ~ifferent depart~ents file requisitions for supplies with the purchasing co:mmittee each month. The matter of purchasing three park sites for the city was given next attentio~.~After deliberation it was decided to appoint a large committee to confer and discuss the matter, and accordingly President McNellis appointed the following committees;- The City Board~of Trustees, C.Blank,F.A.Cunningham, A.J.EschelbachyH.McCaffrey,H.F.McNellis, Chamber of Commerce--Dr.F.S.Dolly,Dr. J.C.McGovern,~7.H.Dinning~ P.H.Thompson. Thomas L.Hickey. F.C.Swingel reported to the city clerk that his insurance company was prevented from insuring city employees on account of a State regulation which requires that cit!es~ay iss~e only with the State Compensation insurance fund. The following claims were next presented for payment;- State of California State Compehsation Insurance Fund Insuring City employees $464.75 Bertuccelli & Mariani Brushes, Paim$,etc. Total The claims having boen approve~ by the finance committee Trustee McCaffrey moved t~ey be paid. The motion was seconded by Trustee ~lank and regularly carried. ; ~ There being no £urther business before the board Trustee McCaffrey moved to adjourn until the next regular meeting, Monday, December 1st, 19£4 at 7;~0 o'clock p.m. The motion was seconded by Trustee Blank and regularly carried.
