A regularly adjourned meeting of the Board o~ Trustees of the City of South .San Francisco was held in the City Hall Monday evening December 8th~.~,1924. The meeting was called to order at ?;30 o'clock p.m. by Trustee H.F.McNellis, Pres'ident of the board. Roll Calls Roll call found all trustees present,to-wit;- Trustees, C.Blank,F.A.Cunningham,A,J.Eschelbach,H.McCaffrey,H.F.McNellis. ~ The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. The matter on amending ordinance 119, soft drink ordinance, to eliminate the bond feature and impose direct fines for violation of the ordinance, was first taken up, and met with the approval of the board. A new ':: ~ ordinance' entitled "Tree Ordinance" was proposed. This ordinance would give the City Marshal power to order trees cut down which are on public property or partly~.on..private property and partly on public property, if interfering with sewers and sidewalks. To be brought up at a futu future meeting. Amending of the Zoning'ordinance, Fire Ordinance and building ordinance was discussed and will be considered further at the nexttmeeting of'ithe~oard. An amusement ordinance; one to ~regulate and provide for a license fee' by moving picture theatres, pool and billiard parlors, bowling alleys, public pleasure gard~As, museums, circuses and dance halls was proposed, and after discussion laid over to cone up at a future meeting. The request of Lawndale City to name a proposed road in Paradise Valley,Hillside Drive,~by ordinance,was Lo~idered. Action.postponed until the completion of the road. A motion of the board at a previous ::.eeting to order closed a barber sh~.~p on Commercial avenue and a shoemaker's shop on Olive ivenue was recinded, and the City Earshal instructed to regulate the businesses pending the passage of the amendments to the zoning, building, and fire ordinances. Peter Mai~ani appeared before the board and made a plea for the extension of the business zone area out Grand Avenue to Magnolia, instead of to Spruce, as now proposed. No action was taken. President McNellts brought the board's attention to the fact that bids should be called for on all heavy printing in the future. The suggestion net with the approval of the board. The Clerk stated that outside of ordinances the next large job would be on tax books the coming July. The assessment roll for next Spring had been ordered in October. The motion was seconded by Trustee Eschelbach a~d regularly carried. There being no further bu~.iness before the board Trustee Eschelbach ~oved to adjourn ~mtil~ the next regular meeting, Monday, December 1~th,~924. and regularly carried.
