SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, HELD ~[ONDAY FEBRUARY 16TH~
19£5.
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco was held in
the City Hall on ~omday evening, February 16th,1925.
The meeting was called to order at ?:BO o'clock p.m. by trustee H.F.~cNellis, President of
the. board.
In the absence of the City Clerk City Attorney John F.Davis acted as clerk pro tem.
ROLL CALL. ..
Roll call i'ound all trustees present,to-wit, :-
Trustees, C.Blank,F.A.Cunningham,A.J.Eschelbach,H.L1cCaffrey,H.F.~cNetlis.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and there being no errors or omissions were
approved as read.
A communication was received from Eugene Gordan, #lO Grand Avenue, asking the board's
permission to install a door and partition to ~eparate his barber shop from a cigar store at the
same location. ~eferred to the Health Officer for advice.
Am application was'r$ceived from Leuis Germane asking for a permit to construct a dwelling
on lot £1, block 10~, ~ap of South San Francisco, and submitted plans for inspection. Taken under
adviser:ent pending investigation. The application Of Flora Davis for a permit to build a garage an
granted. Applications for building permits were received from Sterling Foster for five cottages,
Antone Beroni, one twelve room house, and Pierre Lauchere for a one story cot%age. Permits granted
A second request was made' by ~oseta Giobat~ for the return of ,~.J6 weed tax paid to the
South San :rancisco Land & Improvement for 19£Z wee~ clearing in front of his property. The reque
was signed by two neighboring property owners, who stated they had seen the weeds cleaned by Oioba
On advice ~:,~ the City Engineer the refund was disallowed and the clerk instructed to notify the
property owner to this effect. '-
A communication was received from the Pacifi~ Telephone and Telegraph Company asking for
the return of a ~500 check deposited for faithful porfor~ance in the matter of constructing a cond
to their new telephone office. As city engineer Kneese reportea ~' the work of replacing the con
etc on the job had been done satisfactorily the board instructed the clerk to return the check as
reqNested. City Engine~r Xnees's report of inspection of ~he work was read and accepted.
A communication was received from Dr. J.C.HcGovern,thanking the Board of Trustees for thei
consideration in offering to reimburse him for cash expenditures in Dental Clinic i~ the schools.
stated the amount would run at about $8.00 per month, but could not accept anything for previous
months as he kept no correct record of the amount.
The laid over resignation of the plumbing Inspector, Carl Blank, was taken up next, and on
motio~ regularly carried was accepted. Two applications for the position were received, one fr
Charles Young and one from Peter McC~rmick. On motion by Trustee Blank , seconded by Trustee ~
y and regularly carried Peter McCormick was appointed to the position.
A written report was received from City Engineer Xneese recommending acceptance of the we
of the contract of Eaton & Smith, buildin:~ the factory sewer, stating the same has been comple%ed.
Acceptance of the work postponed until'a future meeting.
On question by Adolph Buehler City Engineer Eneese stated in regard to apos['ible extension
of the factory district sewer that he would submit a report at the next meeting.
A number of property owners in the vicinity of ~Yagnolia and ~1iller Avenmes petitioned the
board to refuse a building permit to Louis ,~ermano, who contemplated building close to the Sidewal
line. Petition laid over for futher consideration.
Soft drink apllications were received from ~.,ictor De Lucca and Egisto Evangelesti, and the
licenses ,~ranted'by the following vote;-
Ayes, Trustees, C.Blank,F.A.Cunningham, ~.J.EschelbaCh,H.McCs. ffrey, H.F.McNellis.

i~RESOLUTION ACCEPTING ·
PARE SITES.
Trustee ._.Blank introduced a resolution accepting the cfi'er of the South San Francisco
Land and Improvement Company of two park sites, the Miller Avenue Park Site and the ~artin School
-District Park Site, showing the acreage to be Z.5Z5 and 4.694~aares respectively,the price to be
~YZ,O00 and the time limit of payment ten years. The resolution was carried by the unanimous vote
the Board of Trustees, to-wit:-

RESOLUTIO~ ORDERING BONDS
Trustee Cunningham introduced an order providing for the issuance of street improvement
bonds, prescribing the denominations of such bonds and the interest coupons attached. The resoluti
was adopted by the unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees,to-wit:

The claims having been audited by the finance committee trustee Cunningham moved they
be paid. The motion was seconded by trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried.
There being no further business before the board trustee Blank moved to adjourn ~til
