REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD 0F ?RUSTEES OF THE CITY 0D SOUTH SAN FP~ANCISC0 HELD L~0NDAY, N©VEMBER 2ND, 19£5. The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South ~an Francisco was helG in the Cit.y Hall Monday evening, November 2nd,1925 · ~'~0~ o, · T.he Meeting was called to order h,t ?,~ clock, p..m~Tby,Trnstee H;F.Mc~ellis,~,Pr~sident of the board. ROLL CALL. Roll call found all trustees present, to-wit, Trustees, Blank,Cunningham,Eschelbach,HcCaf£rey, McNellia. The minutes of the two previous meetings were read and adopted. A communication was received from Jay W.Stevens, State Fire Marshal,referring to a fire in Visitation Valley, and calling upon the trustees to maintain better fire conditions in that region. As the district is in the jurisdition of Supervisor Thomas L.Hickey the clerk was instructed to reply to the communication referring the State ~,iarshal to Supervisor Hickey. A similar com~-~unication was received from Thomas R.Murphy, Chief Engineer of the San Francisc¢ Fire Department. The clerk was instructed to reply to the comnunication referrizg 'bier Murphy to Supervisor Hickey of that district· A permit was asked by the local Loyal Order of Moose to hald a dance in Fraternal Hall Saturds evening November 7th, to last until 1 a.m. Permission Granted. A communi~ation was received from J.0.Snyder, Superintendent of the Western Meat Company, askin~ the board to deputize Frank Dominy a deputy City ~arshal on account of being custodian of the c~mpany's payroll. The clerk was instructed to reply stating the board ~ou!d instruct the city po] to assist custodian Dominy in the transportation of the money at any time called u.,on. A comm..unicstion was received from G.Garcia asking that a light be placed on Armour Avenue between Olive and MaD!e Avenues. ~eferred to the street co.hittite. The Pacific ~'e]ephone and Telegraph Company ~etitioned the board for permission to lay conduit in various streets and alleys as shown upon a :~ap attached. The clerk was instructed to :repl2 stating the the desired permission would be granted upon the deposit of 50~ per square foot, etc. of the amount of conduit to be laid, according to city ordin~.nce. A petition was received from the local Loyal Order of Moose ~:~sking for permission to hold a Carnival from'November 8th to November ~4 to raise honey to buy Christmas Tree Pre~eats to be distributed to the children of members of the Loyal Order of Moose. Permission granted· City Engineer ,George A.Xneese submitted a letter received from F.M.Worthingt~n, Superintendent of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company in answer to inquiries concerning the cost of wi' ~ ffwao and installation at Third and Orange Avenue. ~Ir. Worthington stated the joint automatic wigwag could be installed for approximately $1200 ~ ' and. the crossings, exclusive of paving, approximately $700. City Engineer Kneese was instructed to confer with the Market Street railway, as well as the Southern Pacific and secure more definite figures as to the ]-robable cost, etc. An:.~ ~pplication~ £or soft drin~ and a'pool room ~icense was received from Mrs Tina Retsch, Golden Eagle Hotel. Engineer Robert C!ausen appeared before the board with reference to the laying of ~,e~,~ers in Industrial. Way and the Mission Road at Baden. The engineer stated the work could be done on the Missi Highway for about ~1500 and in Industrial ~ ..... ~. ~ ,~ for ablaut ~llO0. The engineer stated this per~ission is always granted for the asking. Trustee Cunningham stated in ~eference to the underpass a~ the foot of Baden Avenue that the approximate cost of ~280000 should ~nd probabl~ would be borne be the Southern Pacific Company and the State Highway Co~rmission. Also that the Belt Railway had already donated their share, the land. Pete ~,iairani reported dead dogs in various parts of town, and a large hole. in Grand Avenue naar Liepsic. Referred to the poundman and street committee respectively.
