The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San F~ancisco was held in the City Hall Monday evening April 19th,1926. ~ The meeting was called to order at 7;Z0 o'clock p.m. by H.F.McNellis, President of the Board. ~ ROLL CALL. ~ Roll call found al1 trustees present, to-wit; meeting were read & Ap~ved. Trustees, Blank, Cunningham, Eschelbach, McCaffrey, McNellis. The minutes of the previous Application was made by Nanuel A. Borba, for permission to cut the curb in front of his lot #16, block A, Peck"s Sub, and also to remove a tree from sane. Permit grs~nted. Frank Joseph, Chairman of the Portuguese Fiesta, asked t~e boards permission to hold a parade and danc8 Sunday May 2nd,1926, from 9;30 A.M. until 6 p.m.. Permit granted. Edward P.Nauffmann, City Tressurer, made application for a leave of abz~enue of 60 days commencing ~ay lst,1926. Permission granted. Andy Sorenson made application f~r permission to erect a garage of corrigated iron and wooden frame on his lot 22, block 125, map of So~th San Fra,ncisco. PeN-,it granted. RESOLUTION CANYLSSING [::ETULNS. A resolution canvessing the returns and ~eclaring results of a general municipal election . held in the City of South San Francisco on the 12th day of April, 1926 was introduced by trustee Mc~afrey. The vote for City Trustee[ gave F.A.Ctumingham' 791, A.J.Eschelbach,683 and H.A.Cavassa, 541. The incumbent trustees Cunningham and .Eschelbach were declared elected and were sworn i~to office. The vote on the water question stood 419 for and 371 against. The vote on'the proposition and referendum stood 46~ for and 364 against, loosing by the two'thirds vote. The total vote cast was 1238. ;~ecorded in Book of Resolutions, Vol.2, at page 87. On motion by Trustee Cunningham seconded by ~rustee Blank and regularly carried it was decided to make no change in the chairmanship or co~:m~iitte this meeting. RESOLUTION CAi~CELLING CERTAIN ILLEGAL AfiSE~$~ENTS. A statement was received from the Veteran's Welfare Board of California showing ~legal ownership to S.E. Z0' of lot 15,and N.W 10' of lot 14, block 94, and lot 2, block 5, H.S.Park, and ~kzng that the taxes for the year 1925-~6 be cancelled and annulled. Trustee Eschelbach introduced a resolution cancelling the as~'essment as erroneous. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of the board. Recorded in Book of Resolutions, Vol.2 at pa~e 86. A Quan appeared before the board and asked permission to continue making alterations in the Debenedetti building with a view to starting a chinese restaurant. Permission refused. Fred Brown's application for a permit to construct a concrete store building on his lot on Grand Avenue near l,Iagnolia Avenue was a~ain taken up, a,.d the permit granted. The light ordered ~aced in the alley of block ll9 was reported not yet in. The cl~.rk was instructed to notify the gas a electric company again. A light was requested placed at Laurel & Baden Avenues. The clerk was instructed to communicate with the Pacific Gas & Electric Company and order one place~ as requested. City Attorney Scampini was instructed to prepare proceedings for the calling of bi,~s for sweeping the streets and a~leys of the city, and to submit the same at the next meeting.- The matter of the purchase of the local water plant by the city was next given consideration. It was recommended a committee be appointed to investigate the worth 'of the plant, the advisibility of its purchase, the price, if for ~a!e and various other phases of the undertaking. On the com~:~ittee President McNellis appointed City Engineer George A.Eneese,chairman,H.McCaffre~, F.A.Cunningham, City attorney Scampini and P.H.Thompson. The motion was seconded by trustee McCaf£rey and regularly carried. There being no further busimess before the board trustee McCaffrey moved ~o adjourn until the next regular meeting.
