In the absence of President Cunningham TrusteeTM ' ~ · ~schelb~ch was selected President Pro Tem, and 'called the meeting to order at ?;Z0 o'clo~ p.m. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following trustees mresent,to-wit;- Truatees, Eschelbach,Lloyd, ~' ~,~mnu~c~.ani and Tibbetts. Absent, Trustee Cunn~ngham. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and there being no errors or omissions~were approved as read. An amplication for the position of ~ire l~arshal was received from R.~.Dinkel of South San Fran~ Communication ordered placed on file. An invitation was received from the South San Prancisco Flxchange Club requesting the city Boar~ of ~rustees and city offficia!s to partake of !,macheon at the Poodle Dog on wenesday October 12. Invitation accepted and the clerk :instructed to acknowled~e_ 'the r~,ce~.t'[ of the invitation with thanks. The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Com.~any req:~.ested permission to Set certain ~oles and anchors in South San ~rancisco and an underground vive conduit on Lux. alley, south of Nap!e Avenue,t] ~ipe c~m~uit to be driven under the pavement to avoid tearing u~ the same. Referred to the street co~'mitte. The street committee instructed the clerk to write -~he company granting the desired. The motion was seconded by Trustee Tihbetts and regularl~ carried. But one bid was presented~to the board, that of !f.H.~itchie of San Jose. Trustee Tibbetts introduced a reeolution awarding the contract to P.H.Ritchie. The resolu'tion was adopted by the vote of all the memb~:rs present, to-wit, Trustees Eschelbach, Lloyd, ~!inucciani and Tibbetts, trustee Cunningham being absent. The reports of the City Recorder, City ~-arshal and City Clerk for the month ending September Z0th were next' read. The report of the city clerk showed the following balances in the various funds Genera]_ Fund, $213.01, Library Fund, $940.79, 19la Sewer Fund, ~1395.65, 1919 Bonds , $235.43, Str. Imp. Fund ~Z.00, Revolving Fund ~100.00m Street Assessment Funds, $2414.0o, Balance in all funds, ~13,752.12. On motion by Trustee Lloyd, seconded by Trustee Tibbetts and regularly carried the repor' were accepted as read. RESOLUTION N0.50. Trustee Tibbetts introduced a res'olution ordering the grading of the Civic Center Site and a portion of Orange Avenue, and inviting sealed pro=~,osals for doing the uork, setting the ~ate f~ opening the bids at 7;'50 o'clock p/m,~onday,0ct 25,1926. The resolution was ador. ted by the votes of the members of the board =~resent;- to-wit;- '?rust~:~es Eschelbsch, Lloyd, }Zinuc$iani and Tibbetts, Trustee Cunningham being absent. Chief of P:'lice Belloni made request u-~on the board for the purchase of five raincoats for the city police. 0:~. motion by trustee Lloyd seconded by Trustee Minucciani and regularly carried an order was issued for the purchase of the coats, the same to remain city property and be in the custody of~the police chief. ~ City Attorney Co]eberd brou?ht the at oen.~o: of the bo rd to the ±'act that there should be re~ lights at night on material nhere streets are bein~ repaird or buildings erected. The City Marshal v,,~ instruct':d to see that lights were displayed where necessary, and '~'hat contractors remove refuse aft~ the completion of buildings or street work. A report was submitted to the board that the roof of the City Hall is again leaking. Action on calling for bids for a new pumpinf:~ fire truck was postponed until the next meeting.
