HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1927-09-19REGULAR I~EETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN F?~ANCISCO, HELD MONDAY, SEPTF2,~iBER 19TH, 1927. The re/ular meeting of the Oity Coumcil of the City of South San Francisco was held in the City Hall Monday evening, September 19th,1927. The meeting was called to order at 7;30 o'clock p.m. by Councilman A.J.Eschelbach, ~yor of South San Francisco. ROLL CALL. Roll call found all members o£ the Council present, to-wit~- Councilmen. A.Hynding, R.Lloyd, E.Minucciani, R.Tibbetts and A.J.Eschelbach. The minutes of the previous meeting ~ere read. There being no errors or omissions Councilma Tibbetts moved they be adopted ~s read. The motion w~s seconded by Councilman ~inucciani ~nd regul carried. A communication was received from the ~rket Street Railwsy Company in response to the city letter r~equesting that certain repairs be made between their tracks, stating the only places needin Tepairs were Grand Avenue Extension West of Chestnut and a s~all piece at Eagnolia and Grand Avenue The clerk was instructed to write the company again stating that in addition to the places reported bad breaks ~ere found at Orange & Grand and Spruce ~nd Grand Avenues, which needed re~air badly. The Western Eeat Company made really to the city's letter regarding repairs to the street in front of their hydrants, ~sking if this property is dedicated to ~he city. Referred to Assistant Engineer Robert Elassen for information. The clerk was instructed to write to the P~cific ~ater Com?any and inquire when the water would be turned on in the new Ball Park. The matter of the repair of Third Street from the Railroad tracks to the ~dission Road was next taken up for considerstion. After discussion it wzs decided to request the city engineer to furnish an estimate of the roposed work. ~ssistant Engineer Elassem being on hand was given instructions to this effect. Regarding additional improvements on the '~all Park Engineer Elasse~ advocated the placing a a steam shovel there ~or a few d~ys to expidite the work. RESOLUTION FIXING TAX RATE 1927--1928. ~ Councilman Hynding introduced a resolution fixing-the ta~ rate for the fiscsl year 19£7-28 within the original corporate boundcries of South S~n Francisco as~General Fund, $1,00, 191Z Sewer Fund, $.06, Library Fund, $.0~, 1919 Bonds, ~.lA, 192Z Sewer ~onds, $.12, Park Fund $.lA an 1927 Municipal Bonds, ~Fire Apparatus), $.10, ~nd on the territory ~nnoxed to the Oily of Sou~,h San Francisco by special election ~arch 13th,1916, the same rate excepting the 6 cents 1913 S~wer Bonds. The resolution was sdopted by the following vote;- Ayes, Councilmen, A.Hynding, R,Lloyd, ~.~inucciani, R.Tibbetts and A.J.Eschelbach. Noes, Councilmen, None. Absent, Councilnen, None.
