regularly ~ adjourned meeting of the City Com~cil of the City of South San Francisco was held in the
City tIall Monday evenins, ~anuary 9th,1928.
The meeting~was called to order at 7;50 o'clock y,.m. by Co~mcilman A.J.Eschelhach, I~layor of
~outh San Francisco.

Roll call found the follo~;'ing'members of the Comacil present, to-wit;-
Council~.~:en, A.Hynding, U~.Lloyd, R.Tibbetts, A.J;Pschelbach.
Absent, Counc ilmen,M.Liinuc ci ant.
The minutes of t, he two previous neetings were read. There being no errors or omi~sions
Councilman Lloyd moved they be adopted as read. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tibbetts an
and regularly carried.
A communication w~s received £rom the Pacific Tel & Tel Co., requestin~ permission to place
subway construction in the alley north of Miller f'~venue from Maple to Chestnut Avenue, and in Chestnut
Avenue from said alley approximately 820 fe..,t north~;,ard. ~aid over for consideration.
A supplementary report of reco~mnendations on £ire control, prevention, etc,etc, v/as received
from Edu~ard Lamb. Report placed on fi!e/
Council~:an Tibbetts introduced a re~01ution directing the publication of notice to bidders
for the construction of a hou~':-e for the Central Fire Alar::: £tation, adopting s~ecifications for
the sm:e and inviti~:~ sealed [fro~osals or biSs to be opened on the 50th day of Jammry, 1928 at
7;so P.id. 'tho resolution was adopted by the unani:.ous vote of the members, of th~, council present,
to-wit; Ayes, Comacilmen,A.Hynding,R.LloTd, R.Tibbetts, A.J.Esohelbach.
Noes, Councilmen,None.

City Attorney Coleb:~rd report'e.d a bad hole in the sidewalk at Idiller and Spruce avenues,
where trees are about to be planted. Councilman Tibbetts was requested to see that all dangerous
holes be covered to prevent accidents. The 'city attorney reported that the Southern Pacific Agent
,',,ir. ~',~organ will be pleased to ~llow~:stop sign~: at all ~.P.Crossings in the city when the new ordinanc
on ~ame is adopted.
:On motion by Councilman Tibbetts seconded by Councilman Hynding snd regularly ca~ried a dep-
osit of ~:15.00 will be required on -lans and specifications for the new fire house, and f;]10.00 on plans
and specifications for the Central Fire Alarm Station.
Raymsnd Spangler, editor of the Enterprise, a?]:eareJ before the council a~i behalf of the
Chamber of Commerce and asked fbr city' financial aid in conjunction with the Chamber of Co:,merce
to construct/~a concrete Industrial City Sign. ;~[o definite acti~:,n taken.
The 5ity Clerk was requested to v, rite tho 2outhern Pacific Company af[ain and reguest that
rapairs: be made to their tra~:ks at the junction of Swift and Grand Lvenues, and the pavement be
e:l:tended the full v~'id'th of Grand and Swift Avenues.
