Hela Monday, June 4th, 1928.
The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the
City Hall Monday evening, June 4th,1928.
The meeting was called to order at ?;~0 o'clock p.m by Councilman A.J.Eschelbach, ~ayor of
South San Francisco.
ROLL Call.
Roll call found all members of the co~cil present, to-wit;-
Councilmen, A.Hynding, R.Lloyd, M.L~nucciani, R.Tibbetts, A.J.Eschelbach.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no errors or omissions Councilman
Minucciani moved they be adopted ~s read. The motion was seconded by Counciln~an Tibbetts and regular-
ly carried.
Application was made by the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permission to Place
poles,laterals and anchors in various streets in South San Frs,ncisco, according to drawings Nos,19~TD
and 19~8-G, and sheets one to eight, submitted with arplication. Referred to the street committee
for investigation.
Foster & Eleiser applied for a permit to construct Standard Poster Panels on the Noz'th side of
of Grand Avenue 150 feet east of Maple Avenue. ~atter laid over two weeks for investigation.
The Consulting Engineering Company of San Francisco submitted a statement of the nature-of
their linc'of business, together with many references as to their qualifications. Filed for future
reference.
A petition containing 510 names of citizens, property owners, etc, was submitted to the
Council to take steps to call a bond issue for the construction of a large Auditorium for the Civic
Center, a swimming pool in the Civic Center and ~ centrally located playground for small children.
The petition is sponsored by Mrs Carrie E.Winterhalter, who requested the city to make a survey to
determine the cost of such improvement, a£ter which to call a special election within 90 days. ~rs.
Winterhalter also suggested that an option on additional acreage be taken adjoining the City Park
site before the price becomes prohibitive. Laid over for consideratiom.
A communication was received from the Pacific Cocst Buildin,~? Officials Conference, advising
the $ity of South San Francisco to adopt the Uniform Building Code, already adopted by a large number
of cities in the United States. Refer~ed to the city attorney for opinion.

Ordinance No.146, entitled "AN ORDINANCE LICENSING AND REGULATING ITINERANT VENDERS,
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION TNEREOF" had its second
reading and was regularl~ adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San Francisco by the following
vote;, Ayes, Councilmen, A.Hynding, R.Lloyd, M.Einucciani, R.Tibbetts, A.J.Eschelbach.

RES01.UTION TO ABATE WEEDS.
No persons having objected to or protested against the prooosed removal of weeds,
Councilman Tibbetts introduced a resolution authorizing the Superintendent of Streets to abate the
nuisance by the removal of said weeds. The resolution w~ adopted by the unanimous vote of the
members of the city council, to-wit;-

Orange Avenue, Railroad Avenue, and the portion of the alley between Grand Avenue and Baden Avenue,
from Acacia Avenue to Orange Avenue, the portion of the alley between Miller Avenue and Grand Avenue,
from Spruce Avenue to Walnut Avenue, in the City of South San Francisco, was introduced by Councilman
Lloyd, and was adopted by the unanimous vote of all the members of the city council, to-wit;

The matter of the naming of the alleys and construction of concrete stairs in Civic Center
was laid over until a future meeting.
On recommendation of Councilman Lloyd the city engineer was instructe& to commence proceedings
to place sidewalks, gutters and curbs in San Bruno Road on the west side between ~rand And Baden Avenue
where not-now constructed.
The matter o~ convenient stations in ~he ball park was taken u? by the co~ncil, and will be acte,
acted upon at a later meeting. ~
The clerk was instructed to write the Pacific States Electrical Company and request that they
deduct the sum of $17.01 from their claims in favor of the Highway Transport Compan~ which amount
is charged against the city instead of the Electric~,l Fompany.
Councilman Minucciani protested against the number of claims for ~soline presented to the city
city for collection. Councilman Lloyd moved that the purchasing agent be requested to issue requisitio:
requisitions for g~soline as an experiment. The motion was seconded b~ Councilman Tibbetts and regularll
carried.
There being ne further business before the meeting councilma~ Hynding moved to adjourn until the
next regular meeting, Monday, June 18th~,lgE8. The motion was seconded by Councilman Lloyd and regularl
carried.
