The regular-meeting of the city council of the City of South Sam Francisco was held in the City Hall Monday evening, July 2nd, 1928. The meeting was called to order at ?;30 o'clock p.m. b$ Councilman A.J.Eschelbach-, Mayor of South San Francisco'. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following members of the council present, to-wit;- Councilmen, A.Hynding, M.Minucciani~, R.Tibbetts, A.J.Eschelbach. Absent, Councilman R.Lloyd. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no errors or omissions Councilma~ Tibbetts moved they be adopted ~s read. The motion was seconded by Councilman Minucciani and regula~ carried. A communication was received from the Fontana Food Products Company requesting the city to construct a storm water sewer through the southern boundary line of their property in a right od wa~ given by their company to the city. The communication stated the Bay Shore hishway would shortly b~ constructed through the city and the sewer should be ?laced before that time. The clerk was instruct to write the Fontana Company stating the city Councilmen and city engineer would meet with the comp~ officials at any t~me they might suggest, and give the c~nsideration in every detail. The Union Tank Company wrote a communication to the council advising that their ~arker pate! had been infringed upon, and requested the city not to the markers of the Welded Products Company Oakland. Communication ordered filed. A communication was received from B.E.Truax, asking if the city wished re-insurance on the Seagrave Fire Truck, the insurance elapsing June 26th. The council w~s undecided whether to re-ins~ not. Permission was requested by Robert Burns to construct an oil and gasoline station at the So~ west corner of San Bruno Road and C~lifornia Avenue, notice of intention to apply, to the council h~ been posted the required ten days. Permit granted. This being the date set for the hea~ing of protests against the construction of sidewalks, and streets under resolution of intention ~80, the protests of seven property owners and the South~ Pacific Railroad Company were received and read to the council. After discuzsion with some o~ the protestants it was ~greed to meet the property owners on Thursday morning, July ~th, at over the grounds affected. The hearing was continued until ~onday evening, July 9th,19ES, at p.m. T~e re?orts of the ~hief of Police, Fire ~hief and Building Inspector for June were read D~yor Eschelbach announced the fire conm~issioners had agreed upon the selectionof the new and accordingly A.Conziani, A.Beltrami and Clyde Emerson were regularly appointed to the position~ The salary was ~tated to be $1~0.00 per month~The two Platoon system ~dopted to cover the departmex Fireman ~airani protested against the increased hours of employment. He was informed the fire commi~ would t~ke the matter under consideration. In the matter of the application of Foster & K~eiser for permission to erect~adyertising ps Grand Avenue, City Attorney Coleberd stated the company themselves woul,~.~hold, ~ ~eti~,ong the d~ to reconsider the application. ~ayor Eschelb~ch announced that the city would repaid the damage to the st=est, curb and s~ on Palm & Eagnolia Avenues. Mrs. E.0ttenfield, assistant in the clerk's office w~s allowed a salary of $100 per month, clerk was instructed to write all gasoline stations in the city and request that they furnish no gas to any city employees for city purposes without first securing a requisition from the purchasing age Councilman Andrew Eynding, the requisition to be attached to the city claims.
