The regular meeting of the city council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the Cit Hall Monday evening, July lst,1929. The meeting was called to order at ?;30 o'clock p.m. by Councilman A.J.Eschelbach, ~iayor of South San Francisco. ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following members of the council present, to-wit;- Councilmen,A.Hynding, R.Lloyd, R.Tibbet~ts, ~l.J.Eschelbach. Absent, Councilman, M.Minuc~iani. The minutes of the two previous meetings were read. ~here being no errors or omissions Councilman Hynding moved they approved ~s read. The motion was seconded by councilman Lloyd and regul carried. A communication was received from the Railroad Co~m~ission of the State of California stating a survey of the Southern Pacific crossings frm~ San Francisco to San Jose would be undertaken in Augu or September, and asked the city council to appoint a representative to the conference to be held. ~ayor Eschelbach appointed Assistant City t~ngineer Robert Klassen. An application for the position of City Inspector of buildings, eot was received from Serifino Franzetti..Application placed on file. The Christian Science Society of South San Francisco requested permission to erect a sign on th New Bay Shore Highway at Grand Avenue, giving the location of their church. Permission granted. ~ petitio~ was received from five residents of High School Park between L~iller and Parkway aski the council to take steps ~.o eliminate the matter of dead leaves which accumulate on the lawns and on the rooi's of the houses, clogging up gutters. Laid over till the next meeting. ~our acknowledgments were received property owners of the town of Baden with reference to the widenin~ of Third Street. Two were against ~he levy of $15.00 aslot as suggested , and two were for project. Pool room licenses were granted the following applicants,;- Massaglia & Genovesi,~rtin Dovechi,A.McMillan, ~tanley & Fischer, Antonano & U~arti, J.V.~Ron, ~he applications of the California Pool Hall, E.Anduiza, Oolombo & Tapella, for s0£t drink and poo~ reel licenses were laid over. A delegation of citizens and residents of the Town of Baden appeared before lhe council and protested ~against the widening of Third street al the price of ~4.Z? per running foot. They represent the owners of property on Third Street only. They claimed the price w as too high. After considerable discussion they were requested to form an committee to meet with the city council at a future date an. submit their proposition. The ~ity Clerk was instructed to write the owner of a partly completed shack on C.Street, ~ow of Baden and request that s~eps be taken to remove the same. In the matter of the proposed playground sites the city council set Friday July ~th at l0 to meet with assistant city engineer Robert Klassen and go over the field. Claims against the city in the amount of $2098.Z6 were submitted and audited by the finance committee. On motion by councilman Hynding seconded by Councilman Lloyd and regularly carried the claims were allowed and ordered paid. R.
