The regular meeting of the City Council of the City.of .~outh San Francisco was held in the
City Hall Non'ay evening, November 18th,1929.
The meeting was called to :order at 7;Z0 O'clock p.m. bu counci~a~an A.J.Eschelbach, ~ayor of
South San Francisco.
ROLL CALL.
Loll call found all members of the council present, to-wit;- .
Councilmen, A.Hynding, P~.Lloyd, ~.Einucciani, R.Tibbetts and A.J.Escbelbach.
The mimutes of the previoue meeting were read. There being no errors or omissions Councilman
Lloyd moved they be adopted as read. The motion was seconded by Comacilman Tibbetts and regularly
carried.
A comm~ication was received from Chas. H.Peterson, asking if the city was receiving or claiming
~ a gallon from the State for gasoline used im the street sweeping department, fire engines and othe~
city equipment, ihe clerk was instructed to reply statimg the city hsd nor yet claimed a ref~d, ~he
was instructed to search the records and ascertain the number of gallons used by these departments for
se~e~al years back/
The Chmpultepec ~ociety made application for permission to hold literary and F~usical exercises
honor of their Third ~nisersary on ~anuary ~th, including ~ncing. Permission granted.
The So.S.F.Union Stockyards.~o., and theCalifornia Livestock & Baby Beef Show mangers wrote Ch~
of Police Louis ~elloni commendin~ him and his men on the able , courteous and efficient manner in whi,
they handled the traffic on the occasion of the Live Stock show. Communications accepted and ordered
filed.
A communication was received from the South S.F.Chamber of Co~ rce calling the council's atten'
to the crowded condition of the parking spaces on Grand Avenue, and s~pg~sted that a time limit be pla.
on parking in the business district. ~[ayor EschelbacR explained that the city intends to frame an ordi~
covering the parking Troblem, a~d the same ~;,~ould be ready in the very r~ear future.
The K~zie Lime and ~,'~eterial Compa~ replied to the city's commmnication re[~arding the cost of
repairing of the extension of Butler Road, statin$ the comparo/ is nov/ ~efunct amd unable to consent to
the cost of any repairing.'
~ildberg Brothers answered the city's communication of ~he subject~ stating they are willing
to stand the cost of the estimate , ~00.
Tippecanoe Tribe lll. local ~e~e~ asked permissio~ to hold a dance in Fraternal ~all Saturday

Notice was received from the Interstate Com~erc Com]nission, WashingtoD, D.C. in re the applicat.

by the city engineer for the improvement of Linden Avenue from the north curb line of Railroad Avenu
to the westerly line of San Bruno Road. The resolution wss adopted by the unanimous vote of all the

Councilman Minucciani introduced a resolution to ~mprove the portion of Linden Avenue
from the north curb line of 7~ailroad Avenue to the westerly line of San Brvno iQoad in the City
South San Francisco The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of ~,l the members of the
City Council, to-wit;-

B.J.Rodondi reported two ex-soldiers were buying land from the ~outh San Francisco Land
Improvement Company and requested the council to allow them exesption in the amount of $1000, though
claim should have been made prior to July first. He was requested to ask them to bring their dischart
to the clerk's office and the ~atter was taken under advisement.
City Attorney Coleberd was requested to write the State ~ilroad Co~mission and inquire if
the United Railroad Company could be required to fill in between their tracns on Swift Avenue crossi~
Claims in the amount of,&,~ ~Z0.1A were next presented for payment. The bills having bmen
audited by the finance committee councilman Lloyd moved they b~ paid. The motion was seconded hy
Councilman Hynding and regularly carried;-
