July 21, 1950.
,The regular meeting of the city council of the City of South San Francisco was held in
the 0ity Hall, Monday evening, July 21, 1950.
The meeting was called to order at V:30 o"clock p. m. by Councilman Joseph P. Quinlan
Mayor of South San Francisco. '.
Roll Call
Roll call found the following members of the coUncil present, to-wit:
Councilmen, M. Minueciani, R. Tibbetts, J. P. Quinlan, V. Boido
Absent, Councilman R. ~loyd
The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no errors or , omissions
they were adopted as read.
A communication w~s received from the Pacific Gas & Electric Company offering to in.all
gas burners in the city hall for the sum of $~89.$5. On motion by councilman Boido seconded by
councilman Einucciani the offer was a~eeptm~d :an'd the clerk instructed to order the change.
D.J.Eyland tendered his resignation as a member of the Library Board. Mrs Caroline Holbrook
appointed to fill the vacancy.
Guerin Brothers, owneza of'900 feet of land on Linden Avenue protested against the proposed
improvement of said street at this ti~e. Protest aecaepted and placed on file.
The Union Paving Company requested an extension of 90 days time in which to complete the
improvement o~ Swift Avenue and Third Street. Request graSSed.
Fire Chief Welts submitted a report of study in the San Francisco Fire Department at Engine
~4 under assignment of Chief Brennan. He stated he was given every instruction available and gained
much knowledge during his weeks stay. Report accepted and placed on file;
A report of the Ray Burner Company giving ~ statement of the'amount required to repair the.
city's burner was submitted and the matter laid Over.
The application E.T.Bonalanza for a soft drink license was granted.
RESOLUTION OVERRULING PROTEST
No. 71.
Councilman Minucciani introduced a resolution overruling the protests against the improvement
of Linden Avenue from RaAlroad Avenue to the San Bruno city limits.
The resolution was adopted by the vote of the following members;-
Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boido, R. Tibbetts,M.Minucciani. J.P.Quinlan.
Noes, I~one, Absent,' Councilman R.Llosd.

Councilman Tibbetts introduced a resolution ordering the work ~f improving Linden Avenue
from Railroad Avenue to the San Bruno city limits. The resolution was adopted~by the votes of the
following members of the council, to-wit;-
Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boido, R.Tibbetts, M. Minucciani,J.P.Quinlan.
Moos, Councilmen,None. Absent, Councilman R. Lloyd. Attest Daniel McSweeney

The Mexican Patriotic Society was granted permission to hold a dance and exercises on
September £Oth,n~xt.
The application of Smith & Company to inst~ll two tanks, for cleaning solvents was granted.
The Parisie~ Cleaners request for ~ermission to replace their wooden ~cleaning s~ructure with brick
was granted, together ~ith the installation of a tank for cleaning solvent.
Claims in the amount of $520.85 were next presented for payment. On motion by C0uncilma~
Minucciani,seconded by Councilman Boido the clai~s were allowed and ordered paid.

There being no further business councilman Tibbetts moved to adjourn until the next regular
meeting. The motion was seconded by councilman Einucciani and regularly carried.
