REGULAR ~ETING O~ THE CIT'~ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, HELD MONDAY,
AUGUST 18TH ,1980.
The regular meeting of the city council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the
City Hall, Monday evening, ~lugust 18th,19.$0.
The meeting was called to order at 7;50 ~'eloe~ p.m. by councilman Joseph P.Quinlan, Mayor
of South San Francisco.
ROLL CALL..
Roll call found all members of the council present, to-wit;-
Councilmen, V.Boido, R.Lloyd, N.~inucciani, R.Tibbetts,Joseph. P. Quinlan.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read. T~ere being no errors or omissions they
were approved as read.
A communication was received from the South San Francisco Baseball Club asking permission
to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall, Saturday evening, August 28,1980. Permission granted.
Max H.Bernard applied for permission to operate al~erry-ge-round,.Ferris Wheel, Eerry-mix-u~p
and eleven other concessions on Grand Avenue between Linden & L~aple Avenues. Permission denied.
The ~etal & Thermit Corporation requested the city to install a fire hydrant in front of
their property facing the Virden Packing Company. Councilman Tibbetts suggested that the fire chief
secure figures on the cost of installation and re~.ort back at the next meeting. So,ordered.
RESOLUTION, PRO. ~58.
Councilman Minucciani introduced a resolution entitled,"~ OHDER PROVIDING FOR THE
ISSUanCE OF STREET I~HO¥~NT BONDS, prescribing the denominations
of such bon~ls and the interest coupons attached.
The resolution was adopted by the vote of all the members of the city council,to-wit;-

Noes, Councilmen, None.

RESOL~TIOi~ OF ENDORSEMF~T.
Councilman.. Tibbetts introduced a resolution endorsing the candidacy of city engineer
George ~.I~uoese for re-election to the office of County Surveyor of ~an ~teo County,
~iti~g his lon~ and creditable record as engineer and surveyor of the City of South San
Francisco for the pastni~eteen years, and reco~.mding him to the electors of San ~teo County for
re-election. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all the members of the city
council, to-wit;-

ORDINANCE 154.
Ordinance ~154, regulating traffic upon the public streets of the 8ity of South San
Francisco, and repealing all ordinances inconsistent therewith, had its second reading, and was
adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San Francisco by the following vote;-

Regarding the return of the Pac. T~'~l & Tel Co's $600 faithful performance bond engineer
k~lassen stated he would inspect the work an& report at th~ ~ext me~ting of the cit~ council.
~ayor Quinlan reported the main outfall city sewer stopped up off the New Bayshore
~ Highway, and requested Engineer t~assem to make ~n investigation with a view repairing the defect.
i I¥~ayor Quinlan Stated the Board of :~upervisors of San Nateo County had this date adopted
~ a resolution endorsing the projedt to form a sewage drainage system in conjunction with the City of
~_~ San Bruno. Assistant City Engineer Hlassem, after being s~orn by the city clerk stated he believed '
