CITY 0F SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, HELD MONDAY, September 22, 1930.
A regularly adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of South S~u Francisco
was held in the City Hall Monday evening, September 22, 19ZO.
The meeting was called to order at 7:$0 o'clock p. m. by Councilman J. P. Quinlan,
Mayor of South San ~rancisco. In the absence of the City Clerk, Councilman Lloyd
acted as clerk pro tem.
Roi1 Call.
Roll call found all members of the council present, to-wit:
Councilmen V. Boido,~R. Lloyd, M. Minucciani, R. Tibbetts and J. P. Quinlan
The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with.
Recess was then declared awaiting the arrival of Mr. Klassen.

The Council re-
Property owners ~on Linden Avenue from Railroad Avenue to San Bruno City limits
appeared before the council to protest against the improvement of Linden Avenue
under Proceedings ~71. Mr. Shaw of the South S~n ~rancisco Land~ and Improvement
Company stated he believed the bids to be very low but they were not in favor of
the lights at this time. He said they would be willing to withdraw their protest
if new bids were called omitting the lighting system and with the assurance that
the estimates would not be much more than those shown. Mr. D. W. Ratto protested against all of the work.
Mr. Spangler of the Specialty Wire Works protested against all the improvements.
Mr. Melrose of the Union Ice Company protested against the contemplated work
because he heard no argument in f~vor of the necessity of~t. .
Mr. J. H. Davidson of the Prest-O-Lite Company protes~d against all the work.
Mr. Burns of Morrill Ink Company stated that the co~m~anyw..as against the con-
templated work as called for. He said they are in.f~vor of reasonable improvements
but believed these to be too elaborate.
~&r. Lyons protested against thelights but favored the road construction and
gravel sidewalks.
Owing to the fact that out of the ~? acres to be 6onsidered, ZS½ acres protested
against the work, a motion was made by Councilma~ Minucciant, seconded ~y Council-
man Bodio rejecting the work, as~.foll0Ws: ~ ~
That all bids received for the work described in Resolution of Intention #71,
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San ~rancisco, on the 16th day
of June, 19~0, be rejected.
On roll call the motion was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen, V. Boido, R. Lloyd, M. Minucciani, R. Tibbetts, P. J. Quinlau,
Noes, Councilmen None
Absent, Councilmen None

On motion of Councilman Lloyd, seconded by Councilman Boido check~ were ordered
returned to the respective bidders.
There being no further business Councilman Minucciani moved to adjourn until the
next regular meeting. The motion w~s seconded by Councilman Lloyd and regularly
carried. ~ · ~
