The meeting ~i~as called to order at 9;Z0 o'clock A.LL by Councilman Joseph P.Quinlan, }~ayor of South San Francisco. Roll Call. iqoll found the following members present; Cou~ncilmen, V.Botdo,R.Aloyd,R-Tibbetts,~Jos. P.Quinlan. Absent ,Councilman I~,l~nucciani. The reading of the minute of the previous meeting was dispensed with. The matter of rates for electricity chargea by the Pacific Gas & Electric Company in the City of South San Francisco was brou~ht up for consideration. It was stated the ],,~odesto Irrigation District had commenced proceedings to petition t~e State Railroad Commission with respest to the rates charged by the electric con'~pany in that territory, requesting a reduction. In accordance ~?ith these views Councilman Tibbetts introduced a resolution indicati~ a discrimination exists in the electric rates against the City of South San Francisco, joining in the movement ?,:ith other cities of the State to. petition the State Railroad Con~ission for an investigation and redress, and authorizi~ng -Louis Bartlett, an attorney in the City of San Francisco to aid this city in petitioning, without cost to the City of South San Francisco. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the council _oresent;- to-wit: A~es,Councilmen, V.Boido,R.Lloud, R.Tibbetts,Joseph P. Quinlan. l!'oes, C ouncilmen,l~one. Cit~~ attorney Coleberd invited all the members of the City Council and the City Clerk to se~ts on t?~,e stage of the C~rarmmar School 3~uditorium for the Washington'Birthday ~W~ercises, Thursdaj~ evening, ~ebruary 19th The inv~tations ~ere accepted with the thanks of the Council and Clerk· A claim of '$22.~8 from T.Terribellini for stamped envelopes used in connection ~ith efforts made to secure employment for local residents was allo~,~ed and or~.ered paid, after L~ayor ~'uinlan explained the nature of the charge. There being no further business Councilman Boido moved to adjourn until the next regular m,~eting. The motior~ %,~'as seconded by councilman Tibbetts and reguls, rl~ carried.
