A regularly adjourned meeting of the cit~ council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the city hall Wednesday evening, June 28th,193~. This meeting was called to order at 7;30 o'clock p.m. by ~yor Joseph P.0uinlan. ROLL CALL. Roll call found all members of the council present,to-wit;- Councilmen, ¥.Boido,R.11oyd, E.~linucciani,R. Tibbetts, Joseph P.Quinlan. The minutes of the two previous meetings were read. There being no errors or omissions they were approved as read. A communication was received from R.Earl Ruddy,Secretary-~ager of the League of California ~unicipalities,notifying the city council that $56§,000 of the new gasoline tax allotted cities will be available October 1,195~. The communication was accepted and the cl clerk instructed to ~vrite Earl Kelly and ascertain the amount due the City ofmSouth San Fran- cisco. Sociedad Eutualista Mexinana CHEPULTAPEO , Inc., requested permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall Saturday evening, July EEnd,from 8 p.m. to I a.m. Permission granted. A communication was received from Gene Sani stating he wished to resign from the volunteer fire department on acco~nt of lack of time to attend the drills. His resignation was accepted, and on recommednation of Fi~e ~hief Welte, Arthur Johnson was appointed to fill the vacancy. An invitation from the Peninsula League of Municipalities was extended to the city officials to me~t in San Bruno,Thursday evening, June ~th,at 6;50 o'clock p.m. The invitation was accepted an~d several members of the council and officials agreed to attend. A communication was received from Earl Rudy,Secretary-~&~,uager of the League of California Municipalities , calling the attention of the council to the many benefits to be derived from the National Public ~orks Bill by cities requiring loans. Referred to Engineer Klassen. Pool room_ licenses were granted ~.~ssagli, Marie Regalia, E.Galli, Jose Fernandez, C.T.Connelly, ~'~rtin Dovichi, and Carl Welte. On motion regularly made and carried proposed ordinance No.161 was laid on the table. OEDINA~CE NO 161. An ordinance entitled ",dX OEDINA/~CEPR0¥IDINC FOR LICENSIN~ FOR REVENUE AND REGLrL,~TING THE CARR!fII~ ON OF V~.RIOUS L~WFUL BUSI}TESSES,PROFESSIONS, TRADES CALLINGS AND OCCUPATIONS", had its second reading and was passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San Pranci~ Francisco by the following vote;- Ayes, Councilmen, ¥.Boido, R.Lloyd, E.~,inucciani,R.Tibbett s, Joseph P. An ordinance entitled "A/~ ORDINANCE ItEGUL~%TIEG THE VENDING AND DISPOSIEG OF B~EE IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN F,~CISCO", was introduced by councilman Tibbetts, had its first reading and was laid over to come up before the city council at the next regular meeting of the board. The Oity Clerk was instructed to request the Library Board to submit a budjet for the ensuing year. Judge Farrell requested and was granted a leave of absence for one month. Judge Farrell suggested that Judge Johnson be requested to act in his place during his absence. The city co~mcil was agreeable to accept judge Johnson for the vacation period of Judge Farrell. ~iss Rue Clifford and ~Lre. Anna T.Bartlett were appointed library trustees for the ensuing term. Councilman Tibbetts stated the matter of the proposed sewer in block 78 had been taken care of. Oouncilman Minucciani called the board's attention to the growth of weeds in Los Ocr Ceritos in the streets. Councilman TibYetts stated the fire department would take care of them.
