_~ regularly adjourned meeting o-~ the cdt7 council of the City of ]'~outh San
?rancisco was held in the Cdt7 ~all L~:mday evening, October 2Zrd,19ZZ.
This ~:~eeting was called to order at 7;,$0 o'clock p.m. by ~;~ayor Joseph ?.~uinlan.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found all m&mbers of the council present,to-wit;-
Councilmen, ¥.Boido ;i,i~.Lloyd, LI.L:inucciani ,R. Tibbe tts, Joseph P.Cuinlan.
The reading of the minutes of tLe previous meeting was dispensed with.
L',or..?~orton o±' the .i~irm of ?os~:er & Xleisser appeared before the council with referenc~
to his request for a re-adjustment of tl',e bill board rates. Considerable data showing rates
inother municipalities, their losses,crc during the depressio::~ete; was submitted for the
council's considerate[on. After studyi~-: the n~tter the case was taken under advisen~nt and
further consideratiom.
Fire Chief Welte reported on ti:e great fire at the ~-~uiler ~aint works. He stressed
the serious impor'~ance of the city's lack of Hook & Lad[der equipment for such dangerous
conflgrations as the one just occurred, stating loss of life is possible in three and four
story buildings in case of fire where this apparatus is r~ot available.
_";ayor C'uinlan stated he had visited the scene of the fire and was impressed.with the
seriousness of the situation, in that ti~e city is not equipped with hook and ladder a'9,.paratus
to combat flames in the city's larger buildings. The city comacil believed the matter should
given consideration and instructed '~ ~ ,
~a~,or r~uinlan to investigate the cost of such equioment
having b~en informed the ~,~at~onal Covernment would donate ~Z0 of the cost of the new equipmen'
Claims in the amount of ~'~ 2S were next presented to the co'~n~cil eor payment'-

they be paid. i~he motion was seconded by Councilman Minucciani and regularly carried.
There being no further businesg before~the board Counciln~n Tibbetts moved to adjourn
until the next regular meeting,Eonday, November 6th,19~,at ?;Z0 o'clock P.~. The motion
was seconded by §ouncilman t,?inucciani and regularly carried.
