REGULAR NEETING 0F THE CITY COUNCIL 0F THE
CITY 0F SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,HELD

19~4.
The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Bouth San Francisco was
held in the city hall Nonday evening, November 5th,19~4.
The meeting was called to order at ?;,50 o'clock 'p.m. by }.~a~or Reese Lloyd.

Roll call found all members of the city council present, as follows;-
Councilmen, ¥.Boido,R.Lloyd, }~.}~.inucciani,R.Tibbetts, Jos. ~.~uinlan.
The minutes of the previous ~eeting were read. There being no errors or omiss-
ions they were approved ~s read.
A communication v~as received from the South Eau ~rancisco Chamber of Co~]nerce
stating it believes the experimental sign work going on above the city's Hillside Sign should
not be permitted to continue beyond January ~l,19Z~. Communication accepted and ordered
placed on file.
A notice was receive~ from the War Department at San Frmncisco stating that a
public meeting of the ,San Francisco Harbor Line Board would be held Friday,November
19~4 at 10;00 A.N. in Room 401,Custom ?House, Sau Francisco,to consider the application of
the Boar'd of Supervisors of San ~ateo County ,and the Board of Trustees of the City of ~)aly
City,for the establishment of harbor lines along the western side of San Francisco Bay, and
invited all interested parties to attend. Referred to City Attorney Coleberd and City Engineer
Robert Klass em.
Nayor Rees Lloyd received a communication from the Emergenc~ Relief Administration
of San ~ateo County, requesting him to call the city council's attention to the urgent
necessity of passing the $~ ,000 ,000 Unemployment Relief Bond Issue,November 8th,19Z~.
Communication accepted and placed on file.
A communication was received from John H.Skaggs, District Engineer of the Division
of State Eighways, enclosing four copies of a memorandum of agreement providing for t~e
expenditure of the city '$ share of the one-quarter cent g~s tax fund , the agreements to be
signed by the oroper city officials and the proper ~tate officials. Eeferred to City attorney
coleberd and City Engineer Robert Klassen. The agreements stipulate the streets to be affected.
A resolution of the City of ~outh ~an Francisco accepting the agreement with the
State Highway authorities, and designating the cit~~ officers to act for the city was introduced
by councilm~n ~uinlan, and was adopted by the votes of all the members of the city counci~l,
to-wit;- Ayes ,Councilmen,V.Boido,R.Lloyd, E.Einucciani,R.Tibbetts, Joseph ?.~uinlan.

lST lgs~' was introduced by councilman Boido and was lai& over to come up under
the regular order of business at the next regular meeting of the city council.
Building Inspector Beatty representing Councilman Boido ,stated permission was
desired to make alterations and repairs in the Doido building in the sum of $800. Permission
was granted.
Under the head of ~ufinished business Engineer Klassen stated there had been n~
progress in the matter of imstalling sidewalks on the west side of South Linden Avenue,owin~
to some legal matter.
In the matter of the acceptance of the bond of Piombo Bros & Company,City Attorney
Coleberd stated he would be in a position to know of the value of the bond to-morrow.
City Councilman Tibbetts a%nnounced that the Town of Baden was being cleaned up
and streets being repaired, at the request of the petitioners of that section.
City attorney Coleberd stated the matter of repairing~the sewer in Tanforan Avenue
was being given attention by himself and Attorney Rapsey of San Bruno.
A committee of residents and property owners of the vicinity of 0rang~ and Grand
avenues appeared before the council and protested that the noise caused by the cars of the
I~arket ~treet Railway continued unabated and requested that the ~ity Council take further ..
steps to require the car compan~; to abate the nuisance. Eayor Lloyd instructed the ~ity Clerk
to again write She ~arket Stress Railway? Cpmpany and request them to attend to the matter as
soon as possible, ' t.
¥incinzine Brothers were granted permission to petitio?' off a sec~on of their store
for radio purposes on the Corner of Grand and _~aple Avenues,northeast corner.
Claims in the amount of Ss6sg.~.S were next presented to the council for payment;-
