The regular meeting of the cit~. council of the Cit~' of ~outh San Francisco was held
in the city hall ~onday evening, December 3rd,1934.
~ The ~meeting was called to order at 7;30 o'clock p.m. by I,/~ayor F, eese Lloyd.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found all members of the council present, as follows;-
Councilmen, V.Boido,R.Lloyd, ~f.~.~inucciani,R.Tibbetts,Jos~P.¢'uinlan.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no errors or omissions
they were approved as read.
A communication vJ~s received from Bernard l~cCaffrey ?cst ~38~, requesting permissio
to hold a parade of the ~ighth District tdeetir,.g of the ~nerican Legion on December 9th,19~4,
and inviting the City Council to attend. Permission granted.
The Airdrome Transport Inc., requested permission to install 1-~ barrel-28~ gallon
Underground Gasoline Storage Tard~ and 1-8 Gallon-Blind Gasoline Pump for the use of the compa
cars at 297 Cypress Avenue. Fire Chief Welte stated he had posted the Red Gasoline Card Dec.
3rd,and the matter was laid over the required ten days.
Lon A.Morris,709 Olive Avenue,madeapplication for the position of traffic officer
stating he had heard an additional officer was to be employed. Application acce'.~ted and
ordered Dlaced on file.
A petition signed by four residents, of the Town of Baden was received protesting
against the granting of a permit to Cino Giannoni to start a wholesale and dressed chicken
business in "C" Street. Accepted and ordered ~placed on file.
A orotest from tke Businessmen's Association of South Sau Francisco against the sa
proposed business in Baden was also received, and accepted and ordered placed on file.
The monthly reports of the Cityf Judge, '~olice Chief, Fire Chief, ~ealth Officer,
Building Inspector, and City Clerk for the month endiog Uovember 30th ,1934 ,were received and
acceoted.

An ordinance entitled "AI~ ORDINAlS. CE PROHIBITIUG OBSTRUCTING AISLES A!,~D
PIACES-'0~ PUBLIC ASSE~LAGE I~ T?~ CITY OF SOUTH SAI~ FRA~CI,YC0", was introduced by
Councilman Quinlan,had its first reading and was laid over to come up under the regular orde~
of. business at the next regular meeting of the city council.
Attorney Hugh t%Eevitt, representing the Man ~rar, cisco Shoppin~ l~ews,appeared before
City Council and argued for a less drastic ordinance than ~o.158, prohibiti~ the distributi.
of handbills,etc, and asked for time to study the ~ro~osed amendment to the ~ ordinance. Th,
Git? Council willing agreed to the request.
Through building inspector Beatty the Round Cal~.fornia Chain Compan,y asked for ape:
to construct an addition to their plant to cost ~3748. ?ermission g~anted.
Under the head of unfinished business the application of W.A.Ryan to ru~_ a jitney se:
in 2outh San Francisco was not granted on recommed~ion of the city attorney until the ordin~
covering the operation of jitneys could be amended.
No progress was reported in the matter of the proloosed remedying of the sewer defect
Tanforan Avenue.
The proposition to amend the ordinance covering collection of taxes,pe~alties,etc,wa
laid over.
The application of Cino Ciannoni for a permit to operate a wholesale business in liv
and dressed chickens was denied.
The proposition to install electro.~iers in Upper Grand Avenue was laid over till the
first meeting in December 1935.
Claims in the amount of ~960.01 were next "presented to the council for payment;-

The claims having been audited by the finance cormnittee councilman Tib~etts moved
they be paid. The motion was seconded by councilman ~inucciani and regularly carried.
There being no furthe~ business before the council councilman l~inucciani moved to
adjourn until the nextregular meeting, l~onday, December 17th,1934. The motion was seconded
by councilman Tibbetts and regularly carried.
