OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,
HELD MONDAY.
OCTOBER 2~, 193~.
The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
was held in the City Hall Monday evening, October 21, 1935.
The meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock p. m. by Mayor Reese Lloyd.
ROLL CALL
Roll call found all members of the council present, as follows:
V. Boido, J. F. Mager, Reese Lloy$, M. MinuCciani and R. Tibbetts.
C ounc ilmen
The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no errors or
omissions Councilman Mager moved they be adopted as read. The motion was seconded
by Councilman Tibbetts and regularly carried.
A communication was received from the Italian Catholic Federation asking
permission to hold a dance in Fraternal Hall Saturday evening October 26, 1935 from
8 o'clock p. m. to 2 o'clock a. m. On motion by Councilman Tibbetts, seconded by
Councilman Minucciani and regularly carried the permit was granted.
A communication was received from W. L. Dukeman for the employees of the
Pacific Coast Steel Corporation for permission to hold a dance Saturday evening,
November 9, 1935, until 2 o'clock a.m. 0n motion of Councilman Mager, seconded
by Councilman Boido and regularly carried the peEnit was granted.
A communication was received from C. E. Church advising the Council that,
in hauling dirt from the hills in Peck's subdivision, Piombo Brothers used Chapman
Avenue, and that their heavy trucks broke the streets in several places. He asked
the City Council to give the matter attention before the winter rains. The communio
ation was referred to Councilman Tibbetts.
A communication was received from C. Rossi calling the Council's attention
to the factthat the vacant lot on Railroad Avenue between Spruce and Magnolia Avenu
was being used for a dump and was becoming a rat menace. After discussing the situ
the matter was referred to the Health Department. Mr. Colebered suggested a notic
be printed in~ the local paper offering a reward of $100.00 leading the the arrest
and conviction o~ anyone caught dumping in this vacant lot or elsewhere in the city
with the exception of the city dump.
An application was received from Irene Galli for peEnission to make alter-
ations on her store building located on the E. ~ of Lot 23, Block 124 in the estima
amount of $1200.00. On motion of Councilman Mager, seconded by Councilman Minucci~
and regularly carried the plans submitted by Building Inspector Welte were approved
and permit~granted.
A short recess was declared by Mayor Reese Lloyd at 8.20 o'clock p.m. On
reassembling at 8:45 o'clock p. m. the following Councilman answered the roll call:
Councilmen V Boido, J. F. Mager, Reese Lloyd, R. Tibbetts and M. Minucciani.
Councilman Mager introduced a RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING ~,iERICAN LEGION
DISASTER AND RELIEF CALL. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all members
of the City Council, to-wit:

Noes, Councilmen None Absent Councilmen, None

The claims having been audited by the finance committee Councilman Boido moved
~hey be paid. The motion was seconded by Counci~nan Tibbetts and regularly carried.
Under unfinished business Engineer Klassen reported that the letter written by
the City Clerk to the Board of Supervisors regarding the work on Linden Avenue South,
was before the Board of Supervisors Monday October 21, 1935, and after discussion
was referred to the District Atto~-ney's office to report back at the. next meeting of
the Board of Supervisors. He also stated that he checked with Engineer Jmmes and
there was no report on any. South San Francisco projects.
There being no further business Councilman Minucciani moved to adjourn until the
next regular meeting, Monday, November 4, 1935, at 8 o'clock p. m. The motion was
seconded by Councilman Mager and regularly carried. Time of adjournment 9:10 o'clock
p. m.
