HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1938-03-25454 REGULARLY ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MARCH 25, 1938. A regularly adjourned meeting of the city coundil of the city of South San Francisco was held in the city hall Friday evefling March 28, 1938. The meeting was caIled to order at 7:30 o'clock p. m. by Mayor D. W. Ratto ROT.T~ CALL Roll called found all members of the council present as follows: Boide, A. J. Eschelbach, M. Minucciani, D. ~. Ratto. Councilmen V. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. A commUnication was received from the Interstate Junior Livestock Show asking the city council to decorate the streets from the Bayshore Highway to the Stockyards, the decorations to be up by April 8th. The matter was referred to Councilmam. Eschelbach. A co~unication was received from the State Department of Public Works regar'd- lng the city's request for the operation of the Stop. and Go Sign on the Bayshore High- way at Grand, continuously for 24 hours. A new traffic count is to be taken and the matter studied further. 0omm~ication ordered filed. A notice of claim signed by Ella MoJica for injuries sustained and one signed byFrand MoJica for Ella MoJica's doctor bill, etc. were received and motion duly made and seconded both claims were rejected. The matter of granting the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. a fifty year franchise was brought up. City Attorney Coleberd outlined the Franchise Act of 1937 and after considerable discussion it was decided to hold the matter over for further consideration. The matter of the billboard ordinance was brought up and after discussion City Attorney Coleberd was aked to prepare a new ordinance. Building Inspector Welte presented the plans of the Capital Company for a store building on Lots 9 and l0 Block 128 costing $12,000. On motion by Councilman Mlnucciani ae6onded by Councilman Eschelbach the permit was granted. There appearing no further business before the council Councilman Eschelbach made a motion to adjourn to Monday evening April 4, 1935 at 8 o'clock p. m. The motion was seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried. Time of adjournment 9:35 o'clock p. m.
