CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
HELD MONDAY, JULY 255h,1958.
This meeting was called to order at 7;50 o'clock ~,M, by Mayor A.J.Eschelbach/
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found the following members of the City Council present, as follows;-
Councilmen, V.Botdo, A.J.Eschelbach, D.W.Ratto, Rod Tibbetts.
Absent, Councilman, M.Minucciani .
The reading of the minutes of the two previous meetings was suspended.
#864-RESOLUTION ADOPTINS PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION~OF
SEWERS IN THE CITY PARK ADDITION OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO.
CounCilman Boido introduced a resolution of~the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco adopting plans and spec ifications for the construction of sewers in the City Park
addition in the City of South ~anmFrancisco. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all
the members of the City Council present;as follows;-
Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boido, A.J.Eschelbach, D.W.Ratto, Rod Tibbetts.
Noes, Councilmen, None.
Absent, Councilmen, M.Minuc cianl.

#888-RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CONSTR~CT~ON
OF SEWERS IN THE CITY PARK ADDITION .IN THE CITY OF SOUTH ~AN
FRANCISCO.
Councilman Tibbetts introduced a resolution of the City Council of the City of South Sam
Francisco ordering the construction of sewers in the ~ity Park Addition in the City of South San
Francisco. Classification of all labor and the rates per hour were listed ~n the resolution, and
the date set for the calling of b ids for construction work was 8 o'clock P.M, August 8~th,l~g,
The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members, presen~;- as follows;-

Noes, Councilmen, None.
Absent, Councilman, M.Minucciani.

Engineer Klassen was empowered to purchase two sets of C~clone Stainless Steel Tennis nets
complete 'with two sets of 4" O.D. tennis net posts for the sum of $1~8.62.
Architect Reidy of the Eec reation Center plan appeared before the council and submitted
a list of items which shall comprise the community center, together with his figure for the cost
of all units,indicating it would come to the sum Of $18~,000, including a swimming~ pool,club-
house, boy scout and girl scout buildings. The clubhouse building~ is intended to be for the use
various organizations. Furniture,equipment, grading, landscape, walks ,etc will be taken care
of in the original amount. Estamates and description of the projects were approved by the City
Council and forwarded to Washington for official approval.
Communications were receiv ed from Victor Lonati and Arthur Ansani,relative to the opening
up of Linden Avenue for dwelling purposes. They preferred to have the property leaft as bUsiness
property. Considerable discuss ion on the subject, many favoring continuing the street as z~ned,
many favoring dwellings and business both in the street. He~l estate men, property owners, business
men, councilmen, spectators and others were hopeSessly divided on the question. Councilman
Ratto advised that an expert on zoning and rezoning be called into consultation. It was the consen
sus of the opinion of the City Council that this ~ight solve the problem. Other sections of the
city might call for rezoning also ·
There being no further business before the council, Councilman Tibbetts moved to adjourn
until the next regular meeting, Monday, August 1,1938,~t 8 o'clock P.M. The motion was seconded
by Councilman Boido and regularly carried.
