HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1938-08-09486 REGULARLY ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FHANCISCO, HELD TUESDAY,AU~UST 9th,19~8. A regularly adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Fran, Francisco was held in the Cit2 Hall, Tuesday evening, August 9th,1938. This meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock p.m. by Mayor A.J.Eschelbach. ROLL CALL/ Roll call found the following members of the City Council. present;- Councilmen A.J.Eschelbach, M.Minucciant, D.W.Ratto, Rod Tibbetts. Absent, Councilman V.Boido. The reading of the minutes of the previous meet~ meeting~was dispensed with. A communication was received from the secretary of tile Construction and General Laborers Local No.389 of San Mateo County, enclosing'a copy of the latest wages scale applicable to work in San ~ateo County. Referred to Engineer Klassen. City attorney Coleberd stated he had had a conference with Architect Rowe on the proposed fire house bonds i~sue concerning the federal government's Pequtrements in negotiating a grant to the city. He st ated the option on the land method would not be accepted, that the ~ity would have to own the land or set aside a guaranteed amount to buy it. Councilman Minucciani said that while the city has plenty of land of their own, it w~ would be advisable° to set aside the sum of $5000 of the city's funds for the pur~base of a lot in case the city wanted to buy one. This ~as a~ireeable to the city council. City at~ attorney Coleberd will have a resolution to that effect, at the next meeting of the council. ~e will ~ ~ h~ve a resolution on the bond issue prepared for the council meeting of JAand~ Monday,August l~th,l~38. Councilman Tibbetbs reported that he and Chief Belloni had co nferred with the Superintendent of the trucking company hauling dirt from Peck's Lots. The superintendent agreed to water tile dust down well and keep the streets clean until his company can build a new road over the hill. Chief of ~olice ~elloni stated he would have the work watched daily to see if the company is keeping its promise. There being no further business before the council councilman Minucciani moved to adjourn until Wednesday evening, August 10,1938 at 8 o'clock P.~.
