OF THE CITY OF SOU£H SAN FRANCISCO,HELD
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 24,1938.
A regularly adjourned meeting of the City COuncil of the City of South San Francisco
was held in the City Hall Wednesday evening,-August 24th,1938.
This .meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock p.m. by Mayor A.J.Eschelbach.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found the following members of the council present;-
Councilmen, V. Boido, A.J.Eschelbach, Rod Tibbetts.
Absent, Councilmen, M.Mlnuccianl,D.W.Ratto.
The =&ading of the minutes of the four previous meetings was dispensed with.
City attorney Coleberd announced that he had been investigating the proposition of the
s&t~of bonds if the pro~ee~ ~ond election for municipal improvements c~r=ies, ~nd found
that proceedings pertain£ngcto~.the matter should be thoroughly searched by a reputable
bonding company before the election, to insure quick sale of the bonds, and at the best
available market price. He asked that the date of the ele~ion be set to September
instead of the 2Oth, September. All councilmen present agreed this would be for the best
interests of the city. Accordingly Councilman Boido introduced a resilution of the City of

on the ~Oth day of September, 1938s adoptedAugust l?th,l~38. .The resolution was adopted
by all the votes of the councilmen present,as follows;-
Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boido, A.J.Eech~-2~a~h,Rod T~bbetts.
Noes, Councilmen, None.

RESOLUTION CHANGING
DATE OF ELECTION.
Councilman Tibbetts introduced a resolution of the City Council of the City of South
~an Francisco providing for holding a special municipal election in said city on the ~?th,
day of September, 1938.
The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the councilmen present,as followe;4
Aye s, Councilmen, V. Boido, A. J. Eschel bach, Rod Tibbett s.
Noes, Councilmen, None.

Mayor Eschelbach asked the city attorney the name of a first class bonding house,
and the price they would c~arge for handling the proceedings. The City Attorny recommended
the firm of Orrick,Palmer and Dahlquist, and stated their cherge would be
Councilman Tibbetts moved the thfs firm be employed at the figure stated by attorney Coleber
The motion was seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried.
Charlie Mercks, representing the Bethleham's Steel Employees Baseball Club, as' ~reside:
requested permission to hold a dance in Fraterhal, Saturday evening, October 8,1938, from
8;30 o'clock P.M. to 1;30 o'clock A.M. On motion b~ Councilman Boido, secOnded by Councllm~
Tlbbetts,regularly carried, the desired permission was granted.
There being no further business before the Council,Councilman Boido moved to adjourn
until Monday evening, August~29th,1938,at 8 o'clock P.M. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Tibbetts and regularly carried.
