A re~.ularly adjourned meeting of t?e city co~ncil of the City of South San Francisco
was held in the Cit,~. hall Thursday, Feoruar~ 6,1941.
~!s meeting was called to order at 5 o'clock P.i'~. by ~,.iayor George W.Holston.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found all memoers of the council present,as follows;-
Councilmen, V.Bofdo,(~eor~e W,Holston, Reese LLoyd,D.W.Ratto,Rod T~bbetts.
The ~ead~n~" of the minutes of the two previous meetings was disoensed with.
Contractor Person ].ad two engineers on hand to give the councilmen testimony as to the
status and workmanship of the roof of .t3e new a~.ditlon to the cft~,~ library.

the roof of the new addition to t~e library was in Foo~ shape, well built and there need ~e
fear of water h~}rting the roof in any way, bein~ made to withstand the weight of an ordinary
quantlt~i of water, and that no roof is absolutely dead level. Mr. Jo?m Delaney of the
Alta Roofing Company of San Francisco testified before the council as to the merits of the
job done on the new ~llbrary roof. "e sal~ there is no occasion for alarm,the work is done
right,according to specifications, and will not leak.~e st"ated in all his experience ~}e has
!'ovnd no roof q]~ite level, thought it better some water lays aw}-ile as having a tendency to
prevent cracking. Co}}nci!man Ratto stated the water was deeo in places on the roof and was
unsatisfactory and requested that an allowance be mede for the imperfection. The ottoer council
men were satisfied with t~e expert evidence ~iven to the board. Accordingly Councilman Boido
introduced~ resolution of ~the City $ouncil of the City of South San Francisco acceptin~ the
work oez~f~med by E~!l Person, contractor on the library building, a~t,~or~e~n~?the~??su~_ ~f~ $§§9.9,8 ~
to be paid to said Emil Person as the balance due hi~ on t~e thlrd~.~oa,vm~nb~.The r-eso~ti~On-~was~ adopted
by the followin~ vote;-
Ayes, Councilmen, V.Boido, George W.Eolston,Reese Lloyd.Rod Tibbetts.
Noes, Councilmen,D.W.Ratto.

There being no further b~siness before t~e board Councilman Tibbetts moved to adjourn until
