Discussion was had on a proposition to exchange some city park land for be~ch land o~
other sites for parks. Apparently the So.S.i~.Land and Improve~,ent is seeking to secure
a section of ~artin Park for roadway purposes. After long discussion it was decided to
request Hr. Percy J.~haw, General ~anager of the So.S.F.Land · Imp. Co., to convene with
the council some afternoon in the near future and go thoroughl~ into the matter. The
city council deems the ~iller Avenue 3.335 acre park north of Tamarack Lane, Eucalyptus
and Acacia Avenue unsuitaole for park purposes, and would exchange it to t~e land compamy
for a more suitable site. The land company in turn wishe~ a strip of ~artin Park and
would give in return another piece of land.
~ayor Holston volunteered to make arrangements for a meeting, i~ formal, with ~r.
Shaw.
There being no further business before the council Councilman Tibbetts mo~ed to
adjourn until Eonday evening, May 5,19~1, at 8 o'clock PR. The motion was seconded b~ Co
Lloyd and regularly carried.
Time of adjourmr~ent, ~.45 o'clock P.I~i.
