SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,HELD
NEDNESD~M, JUNE 17,1942.
A regularly adjourned meeting of the city council of the City of South San Francisso
was held in the City Hall,Wednesday evening, June 17, 194~.
This meeting was called to order at 7;30 o'clock p.m. by layor D.W.Ratto.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found the following members of the council present,as follows;-
Councilmen,V.Boido, George W.Holston.N.Minucciani,D.W.Ratto.
" Absent, Reese Lloyd.
The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with.
~he matter of the proposed stop and go signal~ at Butler Avenue and Bayshore Highway,
granted by the State Highway Commission, was first taken up. The chief of Police and some of hi
officers maintained that a two wa~ signal would not work at such an intersection on account of
the dense volume of traffic , it being a onesided intersection as comoared to a full crossing~
and suggested a three way signal system be installed instead. After much discussion councilman
Boido advised that the city take advantage of the opportun~.ty of securing the signal after
so many years !~leading for one. Accordingly Councilman Holston moved the mayor and city clerk
be authorized to sign the agreement for a three way signal apparatus. The motion was seconded
by councilman Boido and regularly carried.
~ayor ~atto called the attention of the council to the parking situation in Peck's
Lots and vicinity, stating cars are being parked in front of virtually all houses and lots in
the subdivision, and down on the Bayshore Highway . It was decided to amend the parking ordina
placing a time limit of 9 hours for park~2~g on certain streets and in certain blocks~
particularly on Bayshore Boulevard .
There appearing no further business before the board,councilman tolston moved to adjourn
until Eonda~ evening, July 6, 194?,at 8 o'clock P.~. ~'he motion was seconded by councilman
Minucciani and regularly carried.
