MONDAY,FEBRUARY ~,1944.
A regularly adjourned meeting of the. city council of the City of South San Francisco
was held in the city hall,Monday evening,February ~8,1944 ·
This meeting was called to order at 7;30 o'clock P.M. by Mayor D.W. Ratto.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found all members of the council present,as follows;-
Councilmen,V.Boido,George W.Holstom, Eeese Lloyd, M.~inucciani,D.W.Ratto.
The reading of the.minutes of the pre~ious me~ting was dispensed with.
A communication was received from the city auditors, Gordon Rowe Company,stating in relati.
~o the c611ection of business licenses, any delinquencies,etc, he had had conversations with
the license collector on the subJect~ who stated t~ere did not appear any except the January an,
February months, held back waiting to send out notices on the first of the month when the Haed
'!~ax. Ordinance No ~31 became effective, and a few otherswho would not pay~ for various reasons.

Chief of Police Belloni submitted the name of ~.J'.Boyce for appointment as special officel
at the Western Pipe & Steel Works. Councilman Holston moved the appointment be confirmed,withou
renumeration from the 8ity of South San Francisco.The motion was seconded by Councilman Lloyd
and regularly carried..
RESOLUTION N0.9~3.
Councilman Holston introduced a. resolution of the city council of the City of South San
Francisco vacating Resolution No.99~,with reference to amending No.13V of the City of South
San Francisco, known as %he Zoning Ordinance.
The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the city council;as follows
Ayes,Councilmen, V.Boido,George W.holston,Reese Lloyd, M.Minucciani,D.W.Ratto.
Noes, Councilmen,None.
Absent,Councilmen,None.

RESOLUTION N0.9~4.
city council of the
Councilman Minucciani introduced a ~esolution of the'City of South San Francisco referrin
tO the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco a proposition to amend ordinance
137, the zoning ordinance of the City of South San Francisco by creating additional resi4ential
territory. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the city council,as
follows;-
Ayes, councilmen,V.Boido,George W.Holston, Reese Lloyd, M.Minucciani,D.W.Ratto.
Noes,Councilmen,None.
Absent, Councilmen, None.

City a~torney Coleberd announced that the city should meet as a Board of Equalization
in the near future in the matter of certain new assessments.
Councilman Lloyd reported a shortage of help in certain departments and suggested that
Fred Brown would be a qualified citizen for work. No action taken.
batista J.Rodondi agpeared before the council and reported that the school department
was without police protection since the illness of Joe Bildhauer. Le was informed of the short
of men in the police department on account of lack on sufficient men and the illness of some
of the numbers of the police force. No further action taken.

This meeting was called to order at 7;30 o'clock P.M. by ~ayor D.W.Ratto.

The reading of the minutes of the previous two meetings was dispen sed with.
A communication was received from the South San Francisco Land & Improvement Company,
offering the city deeds to four parcels of land which comprise street extensions as shown on & map
~..~a~che~ dra~n'~.~.Engineer Klassen. After considerable discussion as to the a~visibili'ty of accept-
~ing'm~ deeds th'e' ma~ter was laid over. On motion regularly canopied,
~._ at 8;15 o,clock the board re6essed'to caucus in the caucus room. The board returned

Engineer.Klassen announced that he wouId submit plans and specification for a new subdiv~Si°n
west of the railroad tracks at the next meeting of the council.The tract'is to be called?MAYFAiR
VILLAGE". ·
Banker Andrew Rocca of the Bank of America appeared before the council regarding a city tax
bill against the Baden Kennel Club w~ich was situated upon the South San Francisco Land & Imprevement's
Company's prOper~y in t?~is 6ity. The Tax bill agains~~ the Baden Kennel Club amounted ti $1902.71.
City A!torney 8oleberd will look up the law in the matter.
There being no further business before the board councilman Lloyd moved to adjourn till Monday
March 6,1944 at 8 o'clock P.M. '~he motion was seconded by councilman ~iinucciani and regularly carried.
