OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,HELD WEDNESDAY,
OCTOBER llTH, 1944.
A regularly adjourned meeting of the city council of the City of South San Francisco,wa?
held in the Ci'ty Hall, Wednesday eventhg, October 11,194~.
In the a~sence of Mayor George W.Holston, councilman Minucciani moved that councilman
Charles K.Elde~ be selected Mayor protem.' The motion was seconded by councilman Boido and
regularly carried.
Mayor pr~tem Elder then took the chair and at 8 o'clock P M.called for the roll call.
ROLL CALL.
Roll cal~ found the following members of the council present; as follows;-
CounciL~-e~,Victor Boido, Charles K.Elder, Ivan M.Hays,~ M.Minucciani.
Absent, Mayor George W.Holston.
Copies of the
minu~es of the previous meeting having been forwarded to all members of the council,
Mayor protem Elder asked if any errors ~r omission were noted. There appearing n~ne, he declared
the minutes a~opted as submitted.
A communication was received fPom J.Dale Thompson,member of the South San Francisco
Recreation Con{mission, tendering his resignation as such member, for the reason that the company
for whom he wgrked had discontinued theiT business. Councilman Ha~s moved the resignation be
accepted. ~he ~otion was s~conded by councilman Boido and regularly carried. Later~co~ncilman~
Minucciani requested tLat a reply be sent' to ~r. Thompson thanking him for services to the city
in the recreat~ion division, and wishing him success. So ordered.
RESOLUTION N0.9S~. '
Councilm~n Minucciani introduced a resolution of the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco, amending Resolution No.9§~, under which L.C.Smith was awarded a contract to perform
certain work ~n Hillside Boulevard, by adding thereto a provision relating to CLASSIFICATION,~
PER DIEM WAGE 'and HOURLY WAGE RATES~etc.
The resoIution was adoote~ by the votes of all the members of the council present,as follows;-

Councilm~n Hays introduced a resolution of the city council of the City of South San Francisco
authorizing the City of South San Francisco to make application to the State Board of Public ~ealth
of the State ~f California for a permit to dump raw sewage from the cities of San Bruno,South San
Francisco, Lo~ita Park Sanitary District and the San Bruno Nava~ ~d~anc,d PersOnnel Base ~into
San Francisco~Oay at a point approximately 3000 feet easterly from the ~ ayshore Highway.
The resoldtion was adopted by the votes of all the members of the cSuncil present, as follows;-

This being'the date set for the opening of bids for the construction of an outfall sewer-in
conjunction ~ith the City of San Bruno and the United States ~aval Advanced Personnel Base,
councilman ~i~ucciani moved the bids be opened. The motion was seconded by councilman Boido~and
~e~ularly carried.

Mayor'Holston being absent the .bids were taken under consideration for action later;
The m~tter of the bids of Mrl Hedgers of the State High Commission', of $35-eaeh for lots
i and ~, and 1V, in Block "C", Peck's Subdivision, was taken up. Taxes and street work against
e~a~e~-a~a~ast-$~amema~- the property amounted t° approximately $694., Councilman Minuccisni
stated Mr. G0rrey would pay'$100~each for the property. The city clerk state~ the ~tate Highway
