A regularly' adjourned meeting of. the city council of the City of South San Francisco was held in t~e City Hall, Tuesday evening:, December 19,1944. The meeting was called to order at 7;30 o'clock P.E. by ~ayor George W.}:olstor. ROLL CALL. Roll c~ll found all members of the council present,as follows;- Councilmen,¥ictor ooido, Charles K.Elder,Ivan ~.Eays,Oeorge W.Holston,~.~inucciani. ~he minutes of the previous meeting were ~ispensed with. of t~e meeting ~he most important business'w~s the endorsement of the proposition to secure better bus or transportation facilities for the Cities of South San Prancisco,San Bruno, ahd communities in the vicinity, as urged by the San ~ateo -Burlingame Transit. RESOLUTION NO. Councilman Elder introduced a resolution of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco REQUESTING ~HE O~FICE OF DEFENSE ~RANSPORTATION ~0 G~ANT PERmiSSION TO SAN EATEO TRANSIT TO PROVIDE BUS TRANSPORTATION ~ERVICE BETWEEN SAN BRUNO AND SCI!TS SAN FRANCISCO AND IN SOUTt[ SAN FRANCISCO. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the City council, as follows;- Ayes,Councilmen, Victor ooido, Charles K.Elder, Ivan ~.Hays,George W.holston,~.[inucciani. Noes,Councilmen, None. Absent, Councilmen,None. Attest ~aniel YcSweeney, City Clerk. Recorded in Book of Resolutions, Vol.~, at page 4~. RESOLUTION NO. 973. Consent having been given by city attorney Coleberd, Councilman Hays introduced a resolution cT the City Co~ncil of the City of South San Francisco cancelling taxes on a portion of land O.191 of an acre in area, more or less, acquired by the State of California. ~he resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members of the city council,as follows;- ~yes,Councilmen,Victor ~oido,Charles K.Elder, Ivan ~.Hays, George W.Holston,~.~inucciani. Noes, Councilmen,2one. Absent, Councilmen,None. Attest Daniel McSweeney City Clerk. Recorded in Book of Resolutions, Vol.3,at page 455. Copies were ordered sent to the Office of Defense Transportation and San ~ateo-Burlingame Transit. Councilman Boido reported he had contacted kr. Campbell of the County Planning Commission and was informed nothing wouid be done about building a riding academy near Southwood for many months. ~ayor ~!olston received information that R.J.Dolwig,formerly of this city,and now in the armed forces, might be released by an endorsement from the cit~ council to his commanding general. ~hereupon councilman Elder moved a letter to that effect be addresse~ to the proper officer. The motion was seconded by co~ncilman ~oido and regularly carried. Councilman Elder moved that December salaries be paid before the Christmas holidays. The motion was seconded by councilman Ooido and regularly carried. There being no further business before the board Councilman Elder moved to adjourn until Tuesday, Oanuary ~,1945.
