A regular meeting of the cit~~ council of the ~:ity of Louth san Francisco,, was held' in the
City Fall,~,~onday evening, April 16,19~5..
The meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock P.i¥.. b~ ~'¥1ayor George W.Holston.

In regard to the'minutes, of ~he meeting of the 10 of .the month', an adjourned ~ne, the
City Clerk read the mi~nutes, which were adopted: as read.

city's.~.,~ermission to hold a parade under the auspices of the ~'~orthern Division of San i¥~ateo Co. ~
council, Boy ~couts of America,on the picnic grounds of tlte C, ran~['e Avenue Park on April ~8 and ~9,
they l~avin~ received permission from the recreation division. Permission ~'iranted,
~!r. Hal Dale, Western Dance committee, asked the board's leave to tr~ for a lease of ~ano~
ri~ihts at ~,~rater-~al iall Association,for the priviliges of Saturday and Sunday dances. 5~his
brought out a ~t.o~rm.i of protests, and the petition was denied, th. ay be~.n~' allowed to dance only
on Saturday ni?hts~ which permits were granted till t~e end of . April,, , t945.
Conununications were received, fro~.~ the Southwood '~omen's Club,She Woman, s Club of South San Fran
cisco and the local chamber of commerce, callin~ attention of tile city fathers to tle disregard

arrived contain ny about 400 names,a~ainst the olscin~!: of the sign.e~-~-~_ee~-~-~e~-~e~a~n.
'Ibis caused considerable speculation, and the contendants ar~_ued for many minutes over the
situa.tio~,. Counc]lmer~,all of whom Wished to keep in close wit~ their adherents, and wished to be

statement of the con~.ition there now,-~-a-&&~m=~, telli::' us w~at is wanted there in the way
of personal security, and ~?ive us assurance that 'the big.. li~'~ht, will be in ~ood condition when
t'he~ ~o up ".here to see it ~n the future. In the matter of ~',~:rs. DOminimo Garbarino,
Word was received :~rom the State Divis!o~ of ~.;ig:hways, at Sacramento,California, telling the
~., . city that lot o~ on San ~Puno Road Tract,. does.:not belon? to her, but to the Division of' I-_igh%'ays,
· and requested the cit? to cancel the ts×es on t]~e same , for her benefit. The city declined to
-do so, for the reason s.he owned, t~e property in 1944. . which

': In the. matter of the licensing of the O.h. Jaconson Place, 10i to 111 Gardiner Avenue,
d]scussion~ it wot.~ld appear that the one ~tor~ houses in that tract are not subject to ta:.,'.ation,
~' on account of their description. }[owever, City ~.ttorney Coleberd will lc. ok the matter up more

Pacific ..-.as a Electric Company respectfully made a reque.~t for the privilege of opening a 14"
trench in the NlY..side of East Grand Avenue from a point approximately 580' W. of Allerton Avenue
to a ~oint h!',proxi~,ately 560' E.of Allerton Avenue. Referred to the street commissioner, ~:r.

A letter was received by I'..'~ayor ?iolston from the Federal Public Dousing Authority in San
Francisco, in answer to his request for an extension of an additional 1~ days time in whic~ .to
construct the sewer to servre th.e subject project, granting:_' the desired request.
Chief of Police belloni submitted the following names for candidates ,fOrpublic office as
guards at tk~: various plants; At Bel Air ~'arine base, i~-eorge ?~,~.Penrice, at '~¥estern Pipe ~, Steel
Company,Edward h.Fox,Clarence E.Workman. Councilman ~,~inucciani moved the~ appointments be conf-
irmed,without remuneration from the cit~ council. The motion was seconded by councilman ~oido and
reg~l~rl? carried.
},1onthly reoorts were received from Cit~ Treasurer Ed.Kauffmann and Loretta ~iauser of the
local library. '±he. reports were accepted as read.
