ROLL CALL. Roll call found the following members of the council present;- Victor 5oido, Charles K.Elder, :2eor~ie W.Holston, N.~inucciani. ~bsent, councilman ivan H.Hays. Copies of the minutes of the last meetings of the city council having been forwarded to all the members of the board,M~y.or Holston asked if any one noticed an,~ errors or omissioms. i:carinS none, he declared the m~nutes adopted as submitted. Sixt en young persons petitioned the city to fix up the beach so they could swim. and play Y-r Norman Eynding around some. ~ef~rred to t~e Superintendent of Streets, . .~. ~;~rs. !£.Ottenfield of the Perso:~nel C. oard notified the e.it~, that the examination for city Judge had taken place, that only i',r. S.K.Robbins hsd taken the examination, and t?a~ he passed with a score of 86.102~ She stated the Personnel 2card asked that Ye be appointed to the ~31ace. ~{r. ~.W.C~amer asked f'or a lice~se:.~ to conduct a book store in 300, Southwood Drive. Referred to C?ief of_ Police. kr. Nolston received a statement from the Office of Price Administration, calling the city's attention to overcharges b?: the ~carbagemen, and asking that something be done about the matter. After discussion it was decided t!at a chan6e in the ordinance would be necessary. A reply was received from the Stat Board of Equalization to the ci_ty's letter on the June ounyard application 'f'or an off-sale distilled spirits license,stating that she possibly will sell the license -~_~iA~,-:-~ to Parrrsrio ~ Finger, at the same location, or to someone else. This beinp satisfactory to the cit~, councilmen, the case was dropped. },~ayor Rotston received a notice from Orville ~,.Cain, on post-war doings, stating amoung other things tkat a Post-.,ar Rules and he~dulations ?~ad been established April 4,1945,covering t?e requirementr to make an"Authorized A~ent"for sor:e ae~artment of the city. ~lhe matter was reffered to City Attorne.~/ (;oleberd. ~±he cit~ clerk revorted tNat the telephone company wished to take out the cit?i phone in the hall downstairs.
