Pursuant to adjournment, the Ci~ C~unoil of tko City of South Sam. Francisco met in the Council' 'Chamber, in the City Nell, ca Monday,. July 30, 19~5. The meeting was called, to order by G. N. ~ls%~a, Mayer of said city, at. 7 o'clock p. m..On roll. call, the f~llowing councilmen were found .to be present: V. Boido, M. Minucciani, G. W. Holston and Charles K. Elder. Councilman Ivan M. Hays was absent. Copies of the minutes of the t~o previous meetings having been sent to all members of the City Council, Mayor Holston asked if anyone had noticed any errors or em~e.sions. City Attorney Coleberd stated he had some objections to make. He stated they were not written in conformity with his vie~s. Clerk McSweeney stated they were right in all previous bond elections, and he could not ~ee why any .objections should be found with them now. He agreed to meet with Hr. Oolsherd later and go over the~minutes with him. :, RESOLUTION ON CITY ~PLOYEE, S ELECTION NO. 1033 An election was held in the Gi~ Clerk's office' on Monday, July 30, 19451, to be determined by the oity'~Fee~e4k~th%~.Cityof SouthSem Francisco, their approval or disapproval of the form of contract submitted to said ~ity council, providing for participation in the State Employees' Retirement System. While there were 39 votes castfor the approval of the system, °nly one voted NO, and against the measure, making a total of 40 votes cast- Councilman Minucciani introduced a resolution of the city council of the City of South San Francisco, showing 40votes cast, 39 for adoption of the sYStem and one against. The resolution was adopted by fhe votes of aH the members present, as follows;- Ayes, Councilmen, Victor Boido, Charles-K. Noes, ~ouncilmen, None. Absent, Councilmen, Ivan M. Hays. .E~der, George ~. RESOLUTION OF INTENTION, NO. 1034 TO APPROVE CONTRACT PROVIDING FOR PARTICIPATION IN STATE ~PLO~' RETI~.NT SYST]~ Councilman Boido introduced a resolution of the city coumcil of the City of South San Francisco, shoeing the results of the election of city e~ployee's on July 30, 1945, on participation in the benefits pr0videdby law, and giving notice of imtentton to approve a contract between the leglslative~e~y of this city and the Board of Administration of said Retirement System. The resolution was adopted by the votes of all the members ef the city government present, as follows;- Ayes, ~G~mncilmen, Victor Boido, Charles K. Elder, George W. Holston, M. Minucciani. RESOLUTION NO. 1035 Councilman Elder Introduced a resolution of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, call- ing for a special election to be held in the City of ~outh San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of _California, on the 31 e~ of August, 1945, f~r the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said city the propositiom whether members of the Police Department, Members of the Fire Department, and. certain other employme~ wf t~e~it~ of South San Francisco shall enter into an agreement with the State of California for the purpose of enabling members of the Police Department of said city and members of the Fire Department of ~ city, and certain other employees of said city to receive the benefits of the State Employees' Retirement The resoluti'~n was adopted by the votes of all ~e members of the city c~ancil present, as folleesl- Ayes, Oeuacilmen, Victor Boido, ~harles, K. EESOLUTION NO. 1036, APPROVING M~ORANDUM OF AGREEMENT. P~c~rded in Book of Resolutions, Vol. 3 at page 500 Notice was received from the State Board of Equalization of the transfer of an ON ~ALE BEER license from John Kanellos & George Zambukos to George Zambukos, and the OFF SALE BEER & WIRE license to Filiberto & Dario ?enai, 211 E1 Camino Real. There were no objections by the City Council. A communication was received from Jno. H. Skeggs, District Engineer, informing this city that he had been notified by the Secretary of 3rate of the annexation of Brentwood, and asked that a sketch in duplicate be forwarded to him. Referred to the city Works Engineer, Mr. Heoughton.. Notice was received from the State of California, Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, Sacramento, stating that the p~perty of the Richfield Oil Company of ~outh San Francisco, had been takea eve~ by the~, and that the taxes be cancelled. Referred to the City Attorney. Fire Chief Welte ~ubmitted the name of Arthur Fox for appointment to the paid forces of the Fire Department. Councilman Elder moved the appointment be confirmed. The motion was seconded by councilman Minucciani and regularly carried. It was moved by Councilman Minucciani and seconded by Councilman Boido that a form of ordinance bearing No. 23~ which was introduced before said City Council on the 24th day of July, 1945, and entitled: "An ordinance calling a special election in the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the City of ~outh San Francisco, a municipal corporation, five (5) certain propositions to incur a bonded indebtedness to pay the cost of certain municipal impro~.ements and acquisitions in and for said city as follows~ (1) The construction and equipment of a central police station in said City of South San Francisco; Francisco; (2) The construction and equipment of a central fire department station in said City of South San (3) The construction and equipment of three recreation buildings /_u said City of South San Francisco; (2) city; (5) City of South The construction of a road to connect Linden Av~aue, in said city, with El Oamino Real, in said The construction of an interceptor sewer and an outfall sewer in the southerly portion of said Sm Francisco; Reciting the several objects and purposes for which said indebtedness is proposed to be incurred; the · estimated cost thereof and the amount of the indebtedness proposed to be incurred therefor; establishing the election precincts and appointing officers of election," lie~ on the table. The motion was carried by the unanimous vote of all councilmen present. UPon motion made by Councilman Elder and seconded by Councilman Boido and carried by the unanimous vote of the four councilmen present, said meeting was adjourned to August 6, 1945, at the hour of 8 o'clock p. m.
