A replI. was received From I~r.G.O.Smallcomb, foreman of the county d~rand Jury, to the
cit~j's letter to him advisin~ h~ of ~ealth conditions in South San-Franc~_sco.on account of
ti e hog menace. }e stated the .grand jur~ was quite alerted to the situstion, and will watch
the development of the cases aAainst the ranchers. Communication accepted and filed.
A communication ~'rom Louis Oelloni stated he had engaged the services of ~'irgil Niaffei
on August ~,1945,as i~adio and 'ielephone OperatOr. Councilman Elder moved the appointment be
confirmed. The motion was seconded bF councilman kinucciani and regularly carried.
A c.ommunication was receive,~: from the California ~'ire Cloth Corporation, stating a new
eight inch sewer was necessary to connect it with the existing sewer in the center o~ 'i~nforan
Avenue. ~he~ stated this is a result of an order from the c~ty engineer. 'lhe cit~ clerk
was instructed, to write them, stating the~~ should have the permission of the nav~, and the
matter was referred to the Wb~ks~En~ne~r of South San Francisco.
~ir. he.il appeared before t~:e cit~' council in reference to the sewer in his. property,in the
s~e vicinity. After discussion the cit~. decided Pe would ::e entitled to the n~cessary sewer.
