REGULARL~ ADJOURNED ~!EETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ,HELD k~©NDAY, OCTOBER o,~, 1945. A-regularl~ adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco was held in the City Hall, [onday evening,. October ~,1945. ~his meeting was called to order at V o'clock P.m. by Mayor George W.Holston. ROLL CALL. Roll call found all members of tLe City Council present,as follows;- Councilmen,G.A.Anderson, Victor Boido, Charles K.Elder, George W.Holston,M.Einucciani. Copies of the minutes of the previous meeting having been forwarded to all members of the city council, ~ayor tiolston asked if there were any errors or omissions. ~e pointed out that an error was made have been notified of the intention of the South San Franciso Land & Improvement Company'to ask for the re-zoning of Linden A~enue,both North & South, from Bayshore Highway,and'along hillside ~oulevard on the North side to a point approximately 100 feet to the east of the easterly boundry line of the property of the San Francisco Water No~s,~ for light indust- rial business. This should have been referred to~'~he Planning Commission. Mayor.Holston stated the letter from Lo,eh S.Buch,Chief Engineer for the Fire Underwriters of the Pacific, advising that he had made a careful inspection of the fire protection facilities in South San Francisco,may have caused the confusion. The corrections were made,and the Mayor declared the minutes adopted as corrected. A communication was received from Mfs.Frances W.Cirescole,President of the Southwood Womens' Club,inclosing a petition containing 351 names of residents of Southwood and South San Francisco,petitioning Mt. John H.Skeggs for a stop and go signal at West Orange Avenue and EL Camino Real. The city clerk had ~orwarded the petition to Mr. Skeggs at his office in San Francisco. A petition was received from 1V neighbors and citizens in Mayfatr Village, against Mr. Morrison, at the Southwest corner of ~yrtle and West Orange Avenue,-expressing their dissatisfaction with the sort of fence Mr.Morrison has erected on his property,running parallel with West Orange Avenue. The City Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Dolger on the subject, explaining that neighbors had complained about the ~ Tenc~'~ there,and wished to have it removed or altered, Mayor Holston said he would like to have Mr. Anderson appointed ~o all committees Mr. Ivan M.Hays was a member of, including the Chairmanship of the Fire Commission. Accordingly councilman Elder moved that Mr. G.A.Anderson be appointed to all the committees Mr. Hays was a member of, including the fire commission. The motion was seconded by councilman Botdo and regularl~ carried. Architect Rowe appeared before the council in the matter of the new public buildings voted upon at the election August 31,19~5. He had figures~for the fire department, but was instructed to confer with Mark Larwood, Welte~,Coleberd on the subject. Mt.Frank Kelly appeared before the city council with reference to the subject of c~osing i Cypress Avenue, to~ether with lots 76 and 9V, as pro. posed by the Planning Commission. Mr. Coleberd stated he did not think either CypJess Avenue or the alley of Third Lane were dedicated to the city as streets, but would,_the matter up before the next meeting. Mr.Kell~ ~tated he bought the his lot in good faith, and would hate to be frozen in'at this time. Mr Rocca, chariman of the Planning Commission, stated he would look up light industry property for an~ buyers. ~he city clerk was instructed to turn over Mr. Joe Rodondt's letter~ asking for the re-zoning of certain property in the Town of Oaden. ORDINANCE NO. An o~dinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING DANCING IN PLACES WHERE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES,OT:~ER THAN BEER,ARE SOLD", was introduced by councilman Min ucciani, hsd its first reading, and will be taken up at the next meeting of the city council. Councilman Soido thought the ordinance too strict, that a license should be granted to those asking for one, and the matter was la id over until tha next meeting of the board. ~r.Holston receive~ word from Z'~r.Miretta of Railroad Ave. asking z-or the repair of that street,stat~n~ it was b.~!.:~ gradually being worn down with heavy traffic.The matter will be lc~ ed into. There oe~ng no furthe~ ~usiness befor~ the council, councilman · until ~onday,November 5,1945, at 8 o'clock P.~. The motion was seconded by couficilman ~oido and regularly carried.
