REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO, HELD MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 1946.

CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Geo. W. Holston cal~the meeting to order at 8:00 O'clock P. M.

The minutes of the two previous meetings were approved as read.
C 0RRESPOND~.~CE:
A. E. RYAN owner of the South San Francisco Transit Company
advised the City Council it is the intention of his company
to extend the sewice to Brentwood and' Buri Buri tracts
when they are completed. Communication ordered filed
J., G. V/~EER, Secretary of the Planning Commission of South
Ean Francisco, advising that the Commission reccmmended that
his salary be r~sed to $25.00 per month; also that a type-
writer be provided for the Secretary. On motion duly made
and seconded t~e rais~ was granted.
AMERICAN RED CROSS; addressed a communication to the City
Council asking for a contribution. City Attorney Co~berd
advised that the City cannot make contributions.
BUILDING PERMITS
A. C. FREEMAN asked for a permit to ~l,~$er the interior and
front of his building at ll5 Grand Avenue at an approximate
cost of $4500.00. On motion by Councilman Minucciani, second-
ed by Councilman Elder and regularly carried the permit was
granted.
SHERIFF'S POSSE
ASSOOIAEON
COUNTY CLERK W. H. AUGUSTUS answered the City Clerk's letter
of January 22nd, 1.~46, regarding the issuance of a permit
to the :Sheriff's Posse Association permission to build ad-
jacent to the Southwood Subdivision. He advised the City
Council that it is the in~ention of the Sheriff's Posse to
build a ~b house hn~y. Comm~nication ordered filed.
ON SALE BEER
LICENSES · GENERAL
The State Board of Equalization notified the City Council
of the granting of the following licenses:
M. Senaldi~ 281 Grand Avenue, on sale beer license
Nello Lazzari and Nello Lomba~di, Z0~ Bayshove Blvd., on
sale general license
M. Dovichi' M. Eli and M. Verna, 320 Grand Avenue, on sale
~M off sale general license

SPECIAL POLICE

RAY~IOND GALLAGER On motion duly made, seconded an~ regularly
carried Raymond Gallagher was appointed special police officer
for Armour and Company to sewe without renumeration from the
City.

reports for the month of Feb~ry were submitted and regular-
ly accepted.
RESOLUTION NO. 1072
Councilman Minucciani introduced a resolution of the City of
South San Francisco that the city enter into an agreement with
the State of California for sewer construction across certain
lands. The resolution was adopted by. the uninamous vote of
all members of the City Council. Recorded in Book of Res.
Vol. 4 at page 28. .
RESOLUTION NO. 1073
Councilman Elder introduced a resolution of the City of
South San Francisco requiring the city to execute to the
State of California a quitclaim deed. The resolution was
adopted by the unanimous vote of all m~mbers of the City
Council. Recorded in Vol. 4 of Book of Res. at ~age 29.
RESOLUTION NO. 1074 Councilman Boido introduced a resolution of the City of South

The claims having been audited by the finance conm~ittee, Councilman Boido moved
they be paid. the motion was seconded by councilman Minucciani and regularly
carried

Dr. Klein appeared before the City Council and asked them
for the business of maintaininE~ the city's radios. There
was no action taken in the matter.
Mr. U. Lucchessi appeared before the 'board and com~ained
of the condition of the alley on Third Lzne between Linden
Avenue and Spruce Avenue. The matter was referred to the
Superintendent of Streets. He also talked of the delivery
truc~parking on ~rand Avenue when delivering to the mer~
chants instead of pa~king in the alley. The matter was
re£erred to ~he Planning Commission.
Mayor Holston requested the City Clerk t~ address a letter
of the State Highway asking them regarding the stop and go
sij~nal on E1 Camino Real and West Orange avenue as to when
the city could exoect the installation of such a signal.
