Mayor Geo. W. Holston called the meeting to order at 8:00

MINUTES:
CORRESPONDENCE:
The minutes of th~ seven previou~ meetings were approved
as read.
The Recruiting S~rvice of the United States asked to adver-
tise by placing Blue Arrows on the poles and by painting
Blue Arrows on the sidewalks during the drive. Permission
grant ed.
LABOR HEB_&LD addressed a communication to the City Council
asking the City to take advertising space in the I~arch 22nd
issue. On motion by Councilman Elder, seconded by Council-
mand B~tdoand regularly carried, it was agreed to take the
usual advertising space.

AUTO PARKING METERS
NEW SEWAGE DISPOSAL: The State Department of Public Health
addressed a commnnication tQ the City Council enclosing mew
sewage disposal resolutions. The matter was referred to the
City Attorney.
DURKEE FAMOUS FOODS asked for~ a 'refund of $11.00 paid for
1946 business license for the reason they are no longer
operating in South San Francosco. On motion by Councilman
Minucciani, seconded by Councilman Anderson, an~ regularly
carried the request was denied.
The South San Francisco Plaguing Commission addressed a
communication to the City Council advising that the tentative
map of Burl Buri Rancho as submitted was approved by the
Commission. The matter of accepting the map by the City
Council was laid over to March 20, 1046.
The South San Francisco Planning Commission addressed a
communication to the City Council asking that thought be
given to the installation of parking meters in the business
district of this city. After discussion the matter was
laid over for study.
ORDINANCE #245
Calling for Special
Bond election
Ordinance No. 245 of the City of South San Francisco calling
for a special election to submit to the electors a propos-
ition to incur a bonded indebtedness of $125,000 for the
construction of a central police station had its s~cond and
final reading. The ordinance was passed by theunanimous
vote of all me~bers of the city council. Recorded in Vol. 2

CITY REPORTS
The South San Francisco Library and the Department of Public
Health submitted reports for the month of February. The
reports were approved as read.
BUSINESS LICENSE
Carl V. May ap~plied for permission to engage in the business
of photography at 305 Linden Avenue. On motion duly made
and regularly carried permission granted.
PLA$I~ING CONSULTANTS
Messrs. Hahn, Campbell and Associates addressed a communication
to the City Council submitted a proposal for the revision
of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Soutt~ San Francisco,
setting forth what they proposed to do and that the cost
for such plannin~ would be $31~0.00. The matter was referred
to the Planning ommission.
OPENING BIDS FOR
ORANGE AVt~UE PARK
FENCE
On motion by Councilman M~nucciani, seconded by Councilman
Boido and regularly carreid t~e bids for the construction
of a ~ence in Orange Avenue Park were ordered opened. The
following bids were submitted at the prices given, as per
plans and specifications set forth:

On motion duly made and rega!arly carried the two high bids
were rejected and the Clerk was instructed to return the

RE-ZONGING FOE
MARCH 22, 1946
Councilman Minucciaui introduced a resolution of the City
of South San Francisco providing for notice of hearing t~he
proposition to rezone certain areas in t~e City of South
San Francisco. Tt~ resolution was adopted by t~e unanimous

Claims in the an~oLu~t of ,$ 4~4~3.~45 were next presented
to the Council for payment. The claims having been
audited by the finance committe, Councilman Boido moved
the be paid. The motion was seconded by Councilman
Anderson and duly carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
FIRE HOUSE S~ITE C0~,~IITTEE: NO report. Mr. Joe Rodondl
asked ~ne City Council if he could still submit a bid
for the fire house site. He was advisod yes.
BUILDING PERMITS
ADJOURNMENT TO
March 20, 1946.
Jack Hickey asked permission to alte~ his building on
Lot ~?, Block 124, at a cost of apRroximately $6000.
The S~outh Ci~ty Fruit Market asked pe~-r,~!ssion to altem
its store building at 36~ Grand Avenue at an approximate
cost of $1200. On motion~ by Councilman Elder, seconded
by Councilman Minucciani and regularly carried these two
permits wet% granted.
On motion by Com%ci~an Elder, seconded by Councilman
Minucciani and regularly carried the City Council adjourn-
ed to Wednesday evening, March 20, 1946, at 7:00 o'clock
p. m.
