Mayor Geo. W.~otston called the meeting to order at 8:00 o'clock PM
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
CORRESPOND~CE: War Assessts Corporation notified the City Council of tho sale of
the Maritime Commission property owned by the U. S. G~vernment.
Con~nunication ordered filed.
City and County Airport Department addressed a communcation to th~
City Council regarding the low flying of airplanes over the City
and explaining-the situation. The communication was ordered filed.
Request for
'- foot-bridge
from Mayfair
~outh San Francisco Unified School District addressed a communication
to the City Council asking that a foot bridge be constructed across the
Colma C~eek for children living in Mayfiar Village. Referred to City
Engineer.
The State Division of Hig~vays filed a copy of ~u encroachment permit
which was granted to the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. Ordered filed.
Hillside
Sign
Mr. E. C. Stoutenburgh, Vice President of the South San Francisco
Sign Co. addressed a communication to the city council advising that
the~ contract was let for the dismantling of the Hillside Sign. City
Attorney Coleberd advised the Council that the sign had been removed.
Sam Lodato addressed a ccm~munication to the City Council requesting
permission to annex 70 acres of land to the City of South San. ~'rancisco
The communication was referred to the ~JVorks Engineers.
BUR1 BUR1 Burl Burl Homes addressed a communication to t_~e City Council askinE thatthe
City Council authorize the Works Engineer to prepare plans and specifications
for the installation of sewers, street, gutters and sidewalks.
On motion by CounciL~an Boido, seconded by Councilman Minucciani
and regu]a fly carried tae Works Engineer was instructed to prepare
plans and specifications for this improvement.
REUQEST OF A communication was received from Paradise Valley residents asking for
PARADISE VALLEY the completion of park and playground facilities. The contmunication
RESIDE~TS was referred to the Recreation Commission

The California Circus Corporation a~dressed a communication to the City
Council asking pez-mtssion to exhibit the 101 Ranch Wild West Show
on May l, 1946, enclosing a $100.00 check dated May l, 1946 for the
one day' s license fee. On motion duly made and regularly carried
permissionw as granted provided payment of the $100 fee was made when
permit of issued.
Stone and Youngberg addressed a communication to the City Council
explaining the financing of Sewer Systems with Revenue Bonds. The
commm~ication was referred to the City Attorney.

The Democratic County Central Committee addressed a communication
to the City Council asking that April 15 to 23rd be proclaimed
registration week. Mayor Holston issed the proclomation and asked
that the Enterprise run the proclamation.
Chas. T. Broughton, Works Engineer, addressed a cOmmunication to the
city advising that a $10,000 caeck was received frmn the U. S. Navy
representing the third payment on the joint outfaL1 sewer. On motion
by Councilman Minucciani seconded by Councilman Elder and duly carried
the amount of $5000,00 was ordered paid to tae City of San Eruno for
its sd~are.
Manuel Castro, Secretary of the Santo Cristo Society, addressed a
cormnunication to t~e city council asking permission to hold a celebrat-
ion and dance on May ll and 12th, with dancing on May llth from
8 p.m. to 2.00 a. m. and on Sunday from 2 to 8 p. m. On motion by
CounciLman Elder, seconded by Councilman Boido and duly carried per-
mission was given to dance to I o'clock p. m. on Saturday May ll and
from 2 to 6 p. m. on May 12th, and that flags be hung on the streets
for three blocks on Grand Avenue.
Fire Site:
B. J. Rodondi submitted a site of 125 feet on Miller Avenue for the
fire house side, advising that the price would be subm~.tted at a
later date. The matter was held up until Mr. Rodondi submitted t~e
price.
Special
Police
The names of Fred Harder and Fabian ~ojica were submitted by Chief
of Police Belloni as special police officers at the Western Pipe
and Steel Company and Lindenville respectively. On motion by Council-
man Elder, seconded by Councilman Minucciani and regularly carried
the appointments were confirmed by the City Council to service without
renumeration from the city. '
Monthly reports:The monthly .reports of the City Clerk for the months of~.F.eb_ruary

CLAIm, S:
Claims in the amount of $9~346.92 were next presented to the
finance committe for apprOval. On motion by Councilman ?,~inucctani
seconded by'.Councilman Boido and duly carried the claims were
o~dered paid.
BLDG. PERMIT~: A c0n~uunication~was received f~om A. J. Escnelbach asking per-
mission to construct ~ bdilding 31f x'60' on Linden Avenue on
ortions of lots I and 2 Block 124, at ~an'approximate cost of
6000. 0n motion b? Counci. lman Elder, Seconded by Councilman
Anderson m~d regularly carried permission granted.
RESOLUTION #
1084 Councilman ~,~inucciani introduced a resolution of the City of South
Accpeting deed San Francisco accepting deed of the City and County of San Fran-
of City of SF cisco to lot 1V Block 3, Valley Park. The ~esolution was adopted
to Lot lV B 3 by tl~e unanimous vote of all r~embers of the City Council. Recorded
Vali~y Park in Vol. ~ Book of Resolutions, at page
RES. #1085 Councilman Elder ~ntroduced a resolution of the City of South San
Awarding cont. Francisco a,..vs~rding contract to the Cyclone Fence Company for the
Orange Ave. erection of a fence in Orange Avenue Park. The resolution w as
fence adopted by the u~_.animous vote of all member of the City Council.

New Business
Councilman Boido talked about the improvement of Third Lane
between Orange and Chestnut Avenues. ~ark Larwood advised the
board that a sufficient number of sigratures was not recieved to
enable the city to go t~ough with the ~vork; t~at it would have
to go through the "~,,~ajority Protest Act" which would take about
fo~ months to complete.

Building Inspector Welte submitted the follm~ing requests for
building permits:
Sam Bottino for alteration of his store building at 812 Linden
Avenue~at an approximat~ cost 5f ~400.00
D. J. Daly for permission to construct a store building with
apartments above at .irmour ~mnd Linden Avenues at an approximate
cost of $10,000.
J. Bertolucci for permission to construct four apartv, ents
4 Sores at an approximate cost of $30,000.
On motion by Councilman Boido seconded by Coun5ilf~an Elder and
duly carried the tl~ree permits were granted.
,~,~ATTER OF RE- Councilman Boido asked ~,,~r. Rocca when the next meeting of the
ZONING CERTAIN Planning Commission was to be held. ~'~r. Rocaa advised t~at the meetin
AREAS v,~as for Wednesday evening, April 3, 1946, and that ca,ds were sent
to ~essrs. Trttsty and Dietscl~e to appear regarding the rezoining
of certain areas for light industr~y. Mr. Trusty and ~,r. Dietsct~e
appearsd before the City Council and asked the city council to
hold a ~,~eeting before the election of Ap~il 9th with regard, to this
matter of rezming. After discussion t~e ~,~ayor agreed to call a
special meeting of the city council as reuqested if the city council
deemed it urgent to act on the rez~ing before April 9th.
