On motion of Councilman Elder seconded by councilman Cortesi and regularly
carried councilman Holston acted as I~iayor.
Acting Mayor Holston called the meeting to order at V:40 p.m.
The City clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting
to all members of the city council acting mayor ~olston asked if any errors
or omissions were noted. There being none minutes were approved as sub-
mitted.

R. F. Galli, home builder, submitted tentative map of "~1ayfair" Village ~Q.
On motion duly mad~ and regularly carried same was referred to the Planning
Commission.
Alfi.ero Bergamaschi, president The lo Club, addressed a communication to
the city council requesting permit to hold dance at the Fraternal Hall,
June 1st. On motion duly made and regularly carried~ermi~as granted.
Nazzinio J. Piccinini addressed a co~unication to the city council re-
questing permission to hold a performance in the school auditorium Saturday,
Nay 18th, stating he had rented the auditorium from the Board of Education.
On motion duly made and regularly carried permission was granted.
The California Wire Cloth Corp. addresse~ a communication to the city
council requesting permission to install one ~80 gallon gasoline tank on
their property on Tanforan Ave. Fire Chief ~elte had posted notice Eay
l~th. On motion of councilman Elder seconded by counci~nan Cortesi and
regularly carried permission was granted.

Traffic Cases:
~r. E. F. Cassell, Capt. of the California Highway Patrol, forwarded copy
of a letter he had written to Mr. A. J. Ford, District Inspector. This
was in answer to letter written by the city clerk with reference to state
arrests clearing through the City Court. Same was held over awaiting
answer from A. J. Ford.
Pacific Gas & Electric Co. addressed a communication to the Supt. of Streets
granting permission to the city to hang streamers from their poles across
Grand Ave. Ordered filed.

Healy Tibbitts Construction Co. addressed a communication to the city
council applying for a permit to conduct blasting operat!ons on Oyster Point;
also to store explosives in the old quarry pit on Oyster Point.
Mr. Anderson, Vice President of the company, was present and explained to
the council the operations to be performed ar~ what was desired.
City ~ttorney Coleberd stated the City Ordinance prohibited ~e storing of
explosives within the city limits and permission could not be granted until
the erdinance had been changed. Also that it would be necessary that an
insurance policy in an amount specified by the Council and written in terms
specified by the ordinance should be on file with the City Clerk.
Councilman Elder moved, and councilman Sani s~conded the motion, that
$100,000. be set as the amount of coverage. The motion was carried.
Moved by councilman Elder, seconded by councilman Sani, that permit be
granted Healy Tibbitts Construction Co. to do blasting on Oyster Point on
receipt by the City Clerk of insurance policy made out in the amount of
~100,000. and in terms as set forth in the ordinance. Eotion was carried.
Planning Co~mr~ission of South San Francisco addressed a communication to
the city council recommending the following with reference to ~merican
Homes, Southwood Develooment: That the proper steps be taken for the
complete rezoning of Sections "A" and "D" and that rezon'ing of Sections
"C" and "D" be left open until "A" and "~ have been developed~ On motion
of councilman Elder seconded by councilman Sani and regularly carried the
recommendation of the Planning Commission was accepted.
The Planning~ Commission a~dressedd~ a communication to the city ouncil re-
commending a starting price of ~i$10. per acre on State owned Delinquent
Tide Lands referred to by ~r. ~cArthur, County Tax Collector. On motion
of councilman Elder seconded by councilman Cortesi this matter was laid
over to next regular meeting so that assessment roll could be. checked.
PECK'S hEIGI~TS
REZONING:
Planning Commission addressed a co~unication to the city council with re-
ference to Proposed Subdivision Peck's Hei?~ts recommending that the councilmeet
with the Planning Commission for further study of the matter. On motion
duly made and regularly carried the recommendation was accepted. Co~:ncil
members would meet with the planning commission Eay l~th.
Report of the South San Francisco Public Library Board was submitted and
ordered filed.
Mr. Larwood~ of the Engimeer's Office, presented Plans and Specifications
for outfall sewer for the City of South San Francisco, estimated cost
$88,~00. Same were filed.with the City Clerk.
Resolution adopted b~ the Planning Commission setting forth its final
report relating to proposed rezoning of Lot No~8 in Block "A" ~ap of Peck's
RESOLUTION ll0.~:Subdivision No. l, South San Francisco, was presented and accepted.
Thereupon Councilman Elder introduced a resolution of the City of South
REZ0NING San Francisco ~roviding for notice of hearing the orooosition to rezone
Lot ~ BlockA Lot 8, ~Block ~A". Th8~ resolution was adoota~d b~ ~he~unanimous vote of

Acting Mayor Holston asked if there were any protests against work to be done
on Buri ~ri subdivision. There being no protests council-
RES0~UTiON #110~ man Sani in.troduced a resolution of the City of South San
Ordering work in ~rancisco ordering the work to be done in Ouri Buri sub-
Burl Burl division. The ~esolution was adopted by the unanimous
vote of the council members present. Recorded in Volume 4,

Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution of the.City of
South San Francisco ordering Construction of Sanitary
S~wers in the City of South San Francisco~ and inviting
sealed proposals for such construction. The ReSolutiOn
~aS~adoPted bY the unanimous vote of the members of council
present. Recorded in Volume ~ ~t Page , Book of Resolut~
'76-V?-VS-79.
City Attorney Coleberd stated someone had built a fence
closing off Railroad Ave. at the east line of Linden Ave.;
property that had been traveled over for public purposes
for many years. He stated same should_ stay open as a
public thoroughfare and recommended that the city ouncil
obtain title report on the property. On motion duly made
and regularly carried City Clerk was inst~.cted to obtain
title report on the property in question.

Sale:
On motion of councilman Elder seconded by councilman Sani

Bank of America N.T.& S.A. presented the following bid:

Supervisor T. L. Hickey addressed the council with reference
to the reported removal of present ambulance service from
South San Francisco. He stated the supervisors were con-
sidering ~hematter of providing ambulance service either
through a private party or by the-county whichever was the
cheaper, but in no event would the efficient service as
now rendered be discontinued and an ambulance would be
stationed in this city.
