Player Leo Ferko called the meeting to order at 8:00 o'clock p.m.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
CORRES?0NDE$1CE: Central Ice & Cold Storage Co. addressed a com~unication to the city council
asking permission to erect an ice storal,'e building ~t the Nort~vest corner
of California and Bayshore Highway. On motion duly made and regularly
carried same was referred to the building inspector.
'American Homes a?dressed a com~unication to the city council asking that
certain pvrcels of land in the Southwood Tract be zoned for comm~ercial
purposes. On motion duly made, seconded and regularly carried, the comm-
unication together with sketch was referred to the planning commission.

BOARD TER~IS:
A com~,~unication was received from l~r. J. C. Cher~, Asst. Supt. of Schools,
with reference to school sites. On motion duly made, seconded, and re-
a~larly carried, same was referred to the planning comm~ission .
L~iss Clifford, Secy. of Library Board, addressed a com~nication to the
city council advising that terms of ~rs. Charles J. Ledwith, Dlrs. J. ~.
Walker, and ~{r. G. Carl Weller would expire on June X0th. The matter was
laid over until next meeting.
Communication was received from the Pacific Gas 6~ Electric Co. advising
that a new street light unit had been installed on Orand Ave. west of
Eission Road, and that unit on corner of Braden & Gardner AVes. had been
replaced and rearranged. Communication was ordered filed.
RIDENOUR:
Communication was received from the Personnel Board advising that William
Ridenour had completed, all the requirements necessary for employment in the
police department. Same was ordered filed.

REPORTS:
Attorneys J. Benton Tulley, Erskine & Erskine presented claim against the
City of South San Francisco for account of Ter~ Charles Warren in the sum
of ~9~,~V9.00 for alleged damaces April ol, 1946. Motion was made by
co~:ncilman Sani, seconded by co-ncilman Elder that the claim be rejected.
Eotion was regularly carried.
The planning commission addressed a Communication to the city council re-
commending contemplated development by ~. P. FUller & Co. as set forth in
their letter addressed to the commission June lqth. On motion duly made
seconded and carried the matter was laid over for future reference.
Request was received from tt~ State Employees' Retirement System for pay-
ment of ~4,878.41 covering prior service cost from Sept. l, 1945 to June
.~0, 1946. On motion duly made, seconded and regularly carried this amount
was ordered paid.
Comm~unications were received from the Housing Authority of t he City of
South San Francisco enclosing checks in the amounts of ~i~590~.06 and ~$1766.~6
covering payments in lieu of taxes on Cape Esperance Village and Lindenville
War Housing Project. Same were accepted and ordered filed.
Idr. Jack Gratterola addressed a communication to the City Council requesting
permission to move a six room house from Division St. to the rear of ~19 Lux
Ave. On motion ~uly made, seconded and regularly carried this matter was
laid over until next meeting.
Eeports were received from the City Treasurer and Library for the month of
Nay and were approved as read.

committee for approval. On motion duly made, seconded, and regularly
carried t~e claims were ordered paid.
City Clerk stated, he had been advised by Miss Clifford of the Library Board
that the library basement would be available for use of the Veteran's Ad-
visory Couneil pro%ided it did not conflict with Boy Scout meetings. Also,
no smoking nor loud talking would be permitted. Arrangements could be made
with the librarian. Mr. Gouldner was present at the meeting and stated he
would see if arrangements could be worked out.
Corm~unication was received from Capt. E. F. Cassell of the Highway Patrol
with reference to citing of cases to the City Court. Com~unicstion was
referred to City Judge Robbins.
Application for a license to end, age in Fruit and Vegetable peddling business
was presented by Bertran D. GraF, 87~ Victory Ave., a veteran of World WarII
On motion duly made, seconded and regularly carried ~.'lr. Gr~y~ was granted a
license without charge.
Application for a license to engage in the retail ice cream business,, de-
livering by push carts from house to Douse, was received from Your Favorite
Ice Cream Co. On motion duly made, seconded and regularly carried license
was denied.

Councilman Sani introduced a resolution of the City Council of South
San Francisco Providing for the Constr~ction of a Sanitary Sewer in
Linden Avenue. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all
members of the city council. Recorded in Volume 4 of Book of Resolut-
ions on Page 8V~88.

Councilman Elder introduced a resolution of the city of South San
Francisco accepting deed from Brentwood Co. conveying right-of-way to
certain parcel of land in Brentwood. The resolution was adopted by
the unanimous vote of all members of the city council. Recorded in
Volume 4 of Book of Resolutions at Page 88.

Councilman Holston introduced a resolution of the city of South San
Francisco adopting Plans and Specifications for the C&nstruction of
Improvements in Brentwood Subdivision No. ~. The resolution was
adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of ~e city council. Re-
corded in Volume 4 of Book of Resolutions on Page 88,
Councilman Cortesi introduced a re~olution of the city of South San
Francisco declaring its intention to do certain public improvement
work in the Brentwood Subdivision No. ~. The resolution was adopted
by the unanimous vote of all members of the city council. Recorded in
Volume 4 of Book of Resolutions on Page 89.
Amending No.
1095:
Councilman Sani introduced a resolution of the city of South San Fran-
cisco amending Resolution of Intention No. 1095 with respect to rates
of wa~es. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all
members of the ~.ity council. Recorded in Volume 4 of Book of Re-
solutions on Pag~ 90~91.

Mr. Trusty of Paradise Valley stated he had checked into me~:er of
speed limit on Hillside Blvd. and found that the Chief of Police was
correct. He commended the Chief for the good work in endeavoring to
re,late the speed of motorists in t~s section.

Mr. Trusty su,2:-ested thst Zoning Ordinance of 1975 be revised. City
~t~orney Coleberd a[?eed that some changes should be made and recomm-
ended that the matter be placed in the Planning Co~ission's hands.
Councilman Elder moved that the Planning Commission look over Zoning
Ordinance with a view of making ne=essary changes, and report at the
next council meeting July 1st. L';Otton was seconded by councilman
Cortesi and reg~mlarly carried.
~.iayor Ferko stated Supervisor Thcs. Hickey asked him to sB~gest that'
the city council protest the closing of Sawyer Creek Road. On motion
duly made and reg~.larly carried the city clerk was instructed to w~ite
a letter to the Supervisors protesting the closing of this road.

TO JUE~ 24t~:
Councilman Holston moved, seconded by councilman Elder, that Local
Property Officer Welte be authorized to notify the War Assets Corp-
oration that the city was not interested in civilian defense material
stored in the City Hall.
On motion b~ councilman Holston, seconded by councilman Sani, and
regularly carried, the meeting adjourned to [onday evening June ~4th,
