Present: Councilmen Geo.~. Holston, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko,
Adolph Saul, Emilio Cortesi.
~dayor Ferko called the meeting to order at .4,:45 p.m.
The reading of minutes of previous meetings was dispansed with.
Councilman Sani introduced a resolution of the City of South Ssn ~¥an-
cisco that the city acquire by condemmation real property described as
portion of Lots 7,8,9,10,11 and 1~ in mlock 145, South San Francisco.
The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the
city council. Recorded in Volume 4, ~ook of Resolutions, on Page 98.
Councilman Eolston moved, seconded by councilman Elder, that the City
Clerk be authorized to obtain title reoort to the property in question.
lv~otion was carried.
City Attorney Coleberd stated it was possible to levy a tax of ~).00~
per :)1.00 of assessed valuation for Planning Commission funds. Mr.
Rocca, Chairman of the Planning Commission, stated the help of engineers
was needed in t~e proposed rezoning of the city and this would be a way
of arranging for funds.
The council members talked of Bhe transportation system in the city and
thought some bus station should be provided by the Transit Co. to keep
buses and taxi-cabs off Grand Ave. Matter of parking meters was brought
up and it was suggested that same skould be given more publicity before
definite action was'taken.
Cit~ Attorney was suthorized to proceed with papers on the Fire ~uilding
site.
Councilman Elder moved, seconded by councilman Sani, that architect Rowe
be instructed to proceed ',-ith plans and specifications for the new
building for the t;~ire Dept. The motion was carried.
On motion of councilman Eolston, seconded by' councilman Gortesi, and
re~mlarly carried the city council adjourned to konday, July 15, 1946
at 8:00 o'clock p.m.
