V:O0 o'clock p.m. Present: Councilmen Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi. ABSE~Y~: Councilman ~eo. W. Holston Nayor Ferko called the meeting to order at ~:00 o'clock p.m. Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. RESOLUTION #ll4V: SECOND LANE I~ROVENENT: Councilman Sani introdnced a resolution of the City of South San Fran- cisco proposing to cause a portion of Second Lane to be improved. The resolution~was adopted by the unanimous vote of the council members prement. Councilman Geo. W'. Holston arrived at the meeting at 7:15 O'clock p.m. ORDINANCE #~ Taxicabs: Ordinance No. ~$~, repealing ordinance No. 84 and Ordinance No. 96; also repealing ordinance No. ~08, relating to the'licensing and regulating operation of automobiles for hire and he public transportation of pass- engers within the City of South San Francisco, had its first reading. RESOLUTION ~1148 Deed to State of California: Councilman Elder introduced a resolution of the City of South San Fran- cisco that said city execute a deed granting to the State of California certain property for the purpose of a freeway. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the city council. RESOLUTIOM #1149: PACIFIC GAS & ELECiRIC CO. DHANT: Councilman Holston introduced a resolution of the City of South San ~ancisco granting to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company all its right, title, and interest in and to the conduits heretofore constructed and hereafter to be constructed in the public streets shown on certain sub- division map. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the city council. ORDINANCE #256: PARKING ~TERS: Ordinance No. 25~ relating to traffic and regulatinguuse of public streets, and defining and providing for 'the establishment of parking meter zone$had its first reading. Communication was received from Nieri Funeral Home requesting that two parking meters in front of the chapel on Grand ~ve. be removed. Same was referred to Street Conm~issioner Cortesi. ORDINANCE #25V: DO GS: Ordinanee No. 25V, relating to the licensing of dogs, ~as presented and coumcilman Sani moved, seconded by councilman Holston, that same be read by title only and considered as the first reading. The motion was regularly carried. City Clerk then read title of Ordinance No. 257 - An Ordinance imposing a license tax on dogs owned or harbored within the City of 5outh San Francisco, prohibiting the running at large of animals within the limits of said City and providing for the impounding and sale of animals found running at large in said city. ORDINANCE #253: BUILDING CODE: Ordinance No. 253, adopting ~he Uniform Building Code, 1946 Edition, was read for the second time. The ordinance was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the city council. ORDINANCE #254: Plumbing:; Ordinance No. 254, adopting plumbing ordinance of the County of San Mateo as the plumbing ordinance of the City of South San Francisco, was read for the second time. The ordinance was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the city councilZ Application to engage in business of lunch wagon delivery was submitted by Kenneth G. Chapman, Belmont. Same was laid over until next meeting. ADJOURNY~NT: Nr. Behl, residing in Brentwood, addressed the council and requested permission to keep a house trailer at his place until such time as he could dispose of same. Motion was duly made, seconded and regularly carried that this matter be taken under advisement until next meeting. Councilman Holston moved that the meeting be adjourned to permit Architect Rowe to meet with the Planning Commission and Council memOers to explain plans for new Fire Building.
