Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi.
~iayor i;'erko called the meeting to order at V:45 p.m.
The City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previo~s
meeting to all members of the City Council, ~.ayor Ferko asked if any
errors or omiss~ons were noted. There being none the minutes were appro
as submitted.
C 0RRESP 0ND~CE:
Com~unication was received from 7~orks Engineer Estes with reference to
street and sidewalk improvement, Tanforan Ave. l¥~otion was dnly made,
seconded and carried th, at Ci~~ Clerk contact City Clerk of San re. rune,
vising that the city was in favor of impr~ing Tanforan Ave. and asking
opinion from the San Prune city council.
Works Enginee~ submitted map and esti~mte ~0range Ave. sidewalks, curb
and ?futt~r improvements. ~iotion was ~de, ~seconded and carried that WoF
Engineer get esti~mte on extension of improvements to ~iarket St. railway
Works Engineer submitted cost estimate of ,~29 ,236 .00 covering street im-
provement of ?~'est Orange Ave. from Railroad Ave. to street car tracks.
D~otion was duly made, seconded, and carrie5 that same be accepted and
filed for future reference.
Councilman Cortesi state5, it was his opinion that Old kission Road shoul
be given consideration for~ improvement instead of Chestnut Ave.

Councilman Sani introduced a resolution of the City of ¢~ ~
adopting plans and specifications for t~.e improvement of Second L~ne. T
resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote ~ all members of the City
Council.
RESOLUTION #1151:

PROVE 2nd LANE:
Councilman Elder introduced a resolution of the City of South San Francis
declaring its intention to improve Second Lane. The resolution was adop
by the unanimous vote of all me,leers of the City Council.
RESOLUTION #1153: Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution of the City of South San Fran
Traffic Stop cisco ordering the location of Traffic Stop Signs on Baden Ave. at the
Signs - Baden Ave: intersection with Magnolia Ave. The ~esolution was adopted by the unan-
imous vote of all members of the city council.

Councilman Holston introduced a resolution of theCity of outh San Fran-
cisco requiri~ the acquisition of an easement in certain land in High
School Park Addition for th construction of a storm sewer. The resoluti
was adopted by the unanimous vote & ~l members of the city council.
RESOLUTION ,~1155:

PASS:
Coun~l~mn Sani introduced a resolution of t~e City of South San Francisc
adopting project statement proposing expenditures frQm the 1/4 cent gas
tax fund amoun~ng: to ~!~18,000. on Gr~ndAve. Underpass. The resolution wa
adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of t?,e cit~, council.

Councilman Sani moved, seconded by councilman Cortesi, that the city cle
write to the I,ianufacturers Assn. and the Southern Pacific Co. advising t
the city has signed a f~,lemorandum of A~]reement with the State to provide
the expenditure of ,:~18,000. for underpass on Grand Ave. The motion was
regularly carried.
TRAFFIC SURgeRY:
Mr. Adolph Buehl~addressed a communication to the City Council complain
of automobiles parking in front of apartments on ~aple Ave. This matter
also double parking andall night par~ing, was discussed with the Chief o
Police. Councilman Elder moved, seconded by councilman Sani, that the
Traffic,Dept. make a survey and bring in a recommendation dealing with t
business and parking, meter areas. The motion was regularly carried.
~r. ~artin Dovichi submitted a request for permission to install kitchen
facilities in the rear · his business place. ~otion was duly made, seco
ed and carried that permission be granted subject to the approval of the
Health Dept.
COIN ~CEiNE:
City Clerk stated it was necessary to have a counting machine to take ca
of the parking meter collections.. A machine borrowed from the Abbott Co
Counting.: Co. was now being used and same couldbe purchased for ~250.

~r. Blythe submitted plans for construction of dwellings in Peck's Lots.
Same were referred to the Planning Commission.
Mr. McDaniel, Presi~nt of the Paradise Valley Imp. Club, addressed the
council ~th reference to the improvement of Randolph Ave. He was advis
by the City Council that a cost estimate was being prepared and would be
ready in the near future.

~¥orks Engineer stated the sewer connection at ~layfair Subdivision No. 2~
was not in order. ~.~r. ~roughton stated this condition would be checked
into.
City Attorney Coleberd requested permission to attend the Attorney'S
convention to be held in Washington this month, lV~otion was duly made,
seconded and carried that I~r. Coleberd be granted permission to leave the
State to attend theAttorney's convention.
Councilman Elder moved, seconded by councilman Holston, that the meeting
be adjourned to the regular meeting night, Nonday, November 18, 1946, at
8:00 p.m. ~.~otion was regularly carried.
