Present: Councilmen G. W. Holston, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko,
Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi.
Mayor Ferko called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
The City Clerk having forwarded coPyof the minutes of the previous meeting
to all members of the City Council, Mayor Ferko asked if any errors or
omissions were noted. There being none the minutes were approved as sub-
mitted.
Ordinance No. 259, relating to trailers, was presented ~nd councilman
Holston'moved, seconded by councilman Elder, that same be read by title only
and considered as the first reading. The motion was regularly carried.
City Clerk then read title of 0rdiD~nce No. 259 - An ordinance amending
Ordinance No. 229 entitled: "An ordinance regulating the use of trailers
or csmp cars in the city of 8ouCh San Francisco," adopted~on the 19th day
· of July, 1943.
RESOLUTION #1160:
ORANGE AVE. SIDE-
WALK IMPROVEMENT:
Councilman Sani introduced a resolution of the City of South San Francisco
awarding contract to Gabriel Construction Co. for the construction of side-
walk on the easterly side of Orange Ave. The resolution was adopted by the
unanimous vote of all me~bers of the city council.
RESOLUTION $1161:
BOND OF TAX
COLLECTOR:
Councilman Elder introduced a resolution of the City of South San Francisco
changing surety bond of tax collector from Fidelity and Deposit Co. of
Maryland to Hartford Accident ard Indemnity Company. The resolution was
adopted by the unanimods vote of all members of the city council.

Councilman Sani introduced a resolution of the City of South San Francisco
ordering work to be done as described in resolution of intention No. ll51.
The resolution was adopted by the ·unanimous vote of all members of the

Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution of the City of South San Fran-

resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the city

DESIGNATING A~
COMM2~RCIAL AVE.
LAND IN NO. 1163:
Councilman Holston introduced a resolution of the City of ~outh San Fran-
cisco designating as CommerciAl Ave. that certain land conveyed to the
city by the South San Francisco Land & Improvement Co. containing 0.87
acres more or less and being Parcel ll, Zone B. The resolution was ad-
opted by the unanimous vote of all members of the city council.

Councilman Elder introduced a resolution of the 0ity of South San Fran-
cisco adopting plans and specifications for improvement of Conm~rcial
Ave. between Oak and Chestnut Aves. The resolution was adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members of the city council.
RESOLUTION #1166:
IMPROVEMENT OF
COMMERCIAL AVE.:
Councilman Sani introduced a resolution of the City of South San Francisco
declaring its intention to ~mprove Commercial Ave. between Oak Ave. and
Chestnut Ave. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all
members of the city council.

DEED FROM WM. &
GUSSIE PADDON:
Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution of the City of South San Fran-
cisco accepting deed from Wm. Locke Paddon and Gussie May Paddon covering
a strip of land seven feet in width bordering upon the southerly side of
of the entire northerly line of Lot 20 in Block 5. The resolution was
adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the city council.

LOT 20, BLOCK 79: by the unanimous vote of all members of the city council.
HARTFCH D FIRE
POEICIES:
The Hartford Eire Insurance Co. addressed a communication to the city
suggesting that all fire insurance policies be combined into one policy
and that the total fire coverage be increased from $180,000. to $225,000.
Motion was duly made, seconded and carried, that all fire insurance policies
be combined and that the total coverage remain as now written.
PLANNING SURVEY:
Measrs. Hahn, Campbell and Associates submitted an offer to make a study
of the city and revise the zoning ordinance for the ~mm of $3100.00.
Msgor Ferko suggested that the matter of fmture roads leading to the
various subdivisions be given consideration and asked Mr. Campbell what
tt~ cost of such a survey would be. Mr. Campbell stated he would go into
the matter and submit an estimate and report covering Same,together with
the rezoning survey, at the meeting of the council January 6, 1947.

Mr. Mark Larwood's proposal to make a re-appraisal of the city, submitted
at a previous meeting of the council, was taken up. Councilman Elder
moved, seconded by councilman Holston, that the city enter into a contract
with Mark La,wood to re-appraise the city for a sum not to exceed $8,000.
such contract to be presented at the council meeting of January 6, 19~V '
