~ayor Ferko called the m~eting to order at V:00 p.m.
The City Clerk having forwarded copy of th~ minutes of the previous
meeting to all members of the City Council, Mayor Ferko asked if any
errors or omissions were noted. There being none, the minutes were
approved as submitted.
RESOLUTION #1170 Councilman Sani introduced a resolution of the city of South San
FEDF~tAL ,iVORKS AGENCY Francisco that said city enter into an agreement with Federal Works
$1O,000. Agency, Bureau of Community Facilities, requesting advance of $1~,000.
The resolution was adopted by the Unanimous vote of all council
members present.

Cotuucilman Elder introduced a resolution of the City of South San
Francisco that said City, jointly with San Bruno enter into an agreement
with John E. Hates covering work in connection with new sewage disposal
plant. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all council
members present.

Francisco accepting deed from the South San Francisco Land and

resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the

VACATING RESOLUTI ON
Councilman Holston introduced a resolution of the City of South San
Francisco vacating resolution of intention to improve Commercial
Avenue between Oak and Chestnut Avenues adopted by the City Council
December 30, 1946. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous
vote of all council members present.

Councilman Elder introduced a resolution of the City of South· San
Francisco declaring its intention to improve Commercial Avenue between
the easterly line of Oak Ave. and the westerly line of Chestnut Ave.
The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all council members
present.
MAP HIGH SCHOOL
PARK TERRACE:
~Amended map of High School Park Terrace was presented for adoption.
Councilman S~ani moved, seconded by Councilman Elder, that amend~dZ
map of High School Park Terrace be adopted as recommended by Works
Engineer. The motion was regularly carried.
PLA~ NING SURVEY:
Nit. Campbell addressed Council stating he had contract prepared and
sent copy of same to ~r. Coleber~. Mr. Coleberd received contract so
late he did not have time to look same over and ~repare resolution,
therefore the matter was laid over until the next meeting.
DOE,VI G RESIGNAT 10N:
Richard J. Dolwig addressed a letter to the City Council tendering his
resignation as a member of the ~tecreation Commission. ?;lotion was duly
made, seconded and carrie~! that ~'~r. Dolwig's resignation be accepted
and letter of thanks sent him for his good work in the past.
South San Francisco Bakery presented application for permit to make
certain alterations on its property. ~.~otionwas duly made, seconded
and carried that permit be granted.
Chief of ~olice Belloni advised that 0f~£icer William Ridenour had
completed his probationary period on December 31st, and will be a
regular officer as of January l, 194V. I~otion was duly made, seconded
smd carried that William Ridenour's appointment as a regular officer
be confirmed.
The United Packing Company addressed a communication to the City
Council requesting right of way through the present City Corporation
Yard on East Grand Ave. The matter was referred to the Fire Ohief
~nd City Attorney.

Ordinance ~259 regulating use of trailers came up for its second
reading. Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Holston that
the Ordinance be read by title onl~ and considered as second reading.
;~otionwas regularly~carried. The 6ity Clerk then read title of
Ordinance #259: "An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 229 entitled:
'Au ordinance reo~ulating the use of trailers or camp c ars in the City
of Scutch San Francisco', adopted on the 19th day of July, 1943". The
ordinance was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City
Council present.

MOVING OF EARTH:
AD JOURN~'i ENT:
Ordinance requiring a permit for transportation of earth over city
streets came up for second reading. Councilman Holston moved, seconded
by Councilman Sani that same be read by title only, and considered
as second reading. The motion was regularly carried. The City Clerk
2hen read title of Ordinance #260 - "An ordinance requiring a permit
for transportation over any publi~J street or highway, of earth excavated
from any land in the City of South San Francisco". The ordinance
was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council
present.
Councilman Cortesi arrived at the meeting at 7:40 p.m.
Works Engineer Estes addressed a eemmun£~ to the Oity Council
enclosing a petition signed by all of the small farm owners between
Avalon Park and E1 Camino Real in which they desire to grant an
easement for a sewer to serve this area and Avalon Park. The City
Clerk was instructed to write Edward ~;'. Stafford, one of the pe2itioners,
advising that the matter had been taken under consideration.
On motion of Councilman Holston, seconded by Councilman Sani, and
regularly carried, the meeting was adjourned to January 20, 1947
at 8:00 p.m.
