Ma~or Ferko called the meeti~ to order at 8:10 p.m.
The City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting to
all members of the CityCouncil, Mayor Ferko asked if any errors or omissions
were noted. There being none, the minutes wgre approved as submitted.
Mayor Ferko asked if there were any further bids for the improvement of Second
Lane. There being none, time for receiving further bids was declared closed.
Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Holston, that bids for the improve-
ment of Second Lane be opened. Motion was regularly carried. The.following
bids were.submitted.

Bonds were submitted with e~ch bid, but the bond submitted by Gabriel Construct~n
Company was not signed;therefore, his bid could not be considered.
L. C. Smith being the low bidder, Councilman Sani introduced a resolution
awarding the contract for the improvement of Second Lane to L. C. Smith in the
amount of $6036.52. The resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all
mer~erse
Mr. end Mrs. Modesto Herrero requested permission to hold reception ~nd dance in
the American Legion Hall May 3rd. On ~oti. on duly made, seconded and regularly
carried permission ms granted.
Communication ~as receiMed from Chief Qf ~olice a~vising that officer Mario
Blandini was coni~ed to Mills Memorial Hospital and would be off duty for
approximately three months. Communication was filed.
Chief of Police Belloni requested that the following ~ard appointmemts be
cancelled.

On motion duly made, seconded and regularly carried, guard appointments above
enumerated were cancelled.
State Board of Equalization advised that applications for licenses had been
made by the following:

Same were ordered filed.
Communication was received from Los Banos May Day Association advising of festival
to be held in that city May &th. Same was ordered filed.
Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Sani, that bids for the installa-
tion of Pipe at Orange Ave. Park and Paradise Valley Park be opened. Motion
was regularly carried. The only bid received was from Tay-Holbrook Inc. as
follows: Orange Avenue Park $1588.81; Paradise Valley Park $802.49.
Certified checks for $200.00 and $100.00 were attached~
Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution awarding the contract for furnishing
pipe and other material for Orange Avenue and Paradise Valley Parks to Tay-
Holbrook Inc. in the amount of $239~.30. The resolution was adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members.
Reports for the month of February were submitted by the City Judge and the Chief
of Police. Same were approved as submitted.
Claims in the amount $8168~72 were presented to the Finance Committee for
approval. On motion duly made, seconded and regularly carried the claims were
ordered paid.
Communication was received from the Santo Cristo 'Bociety asking that the street
fl~s ~e .put.up about 2 weeks before celebration. This matter was referred to
the Superintendent of Streets.

RESOLUTION NO. 1199:
ADJOURNMENT:
Communication was received from the Planning COmmission recommending that the
City Council take such steps as may be necessary to provide and secure ease-
ments for sewer facilities in Avalon Tract No. 1, as shown on map, without
expense to the City, and that no connection to this sewer be made by any
outside parties until such time as the specified territory is annexed to the
City. Also that the owner of Avalon Tract provide connecting road with the
present country road now known as Country Club Drive at "D" Street. MotiOn
was duly made, seconded and regularly carried that the recommendation of the
Planning Commission be accepted and the necessary steps be taken to obtain
easements by negotiation.
Wilsey, Broughton and Longson,submitted map of street improvement for Buri
Buri #2. Same was referred to the Works Engineer.
Works Engineer Estes submitted plan of Daly Subdivision located at the
extension of Commercial Avenue. On motion duly made, seconded and regularly
carried, this plan was accepted.
The Boosters Club addressed a communication to the City Council requesting
permission to hold fiesta in South San Francisco July Ath, 5th and 6th.
Motion was duly made, seconded and regularly carried that permission be
granted, with the approval of the various department heads of the City.
Mrs. G. Guisto submitted application' to remove house fremthe Mission District,
San Francisco, to Chestnut Avenue, South San Francisco. Councilman Cortesi
moved, seconded by Councilman Sani, that permission be denied. The motion
did not carry. Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Eolston that
the matter be laid over for another meeting. The motion was regularly carried.
Mayor Ferko asked Building Inspector Rozzi to submit report covering inconsistenc~s
he found in the b~ilding regulations.
Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution'providing for the publication of notice
inviting sealed proposals for the purchase of ~ ~ntted Wehr 8-Ton Tandem Roller ~
from the City of South San Francisco. The resolution ms adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members.
On motion of Councilman Holston, seconded by Councilman Sani and regularly
carried, the meeting adjourned to March 24, 19A7 at ~:00 p.m. Time of
adjournment 9:15 p~m.
