ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FNANC!~O PUt, J) WEDNESDAY MAY 28, 19&7
Council Chambers, City Hall.
7:30 p.m.
Present: Councilmen G. W. Holston, Chas. Elder, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi.
Absent: Mayor Leo Ferko
Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman sani that Councilman ~olston act as Mayor
in the absence of Mayor Ferko. The motion was regularly carried.
CALL TO.O~ER:
Acting Mayor Holston called the meeting to order at 7:A5 p.m.
The City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting to each
member of the Council, acting Mayor HoIston asked if any errors or ommissions were noted.
There beim~ none the minutes were approved as submitted.
RESOLUTION ~1215
ORANGE AVE. SIDE-
;~ALK:
Councilman Elder introduced a resolution ordering construction of a sidewalk on the wes%
side .o~WestOrange Ave. between RailroadAve. and the right-of-way of the San Francisco
Municipal Railroad. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of
the Council present.

RESOLUTION #1216
PLANS & SPECIFICA-
TIONS RAILROAD AVE.
SEWER:
Petition.requesting the construction of a sanitary sewer on Railroad Ave. was submitted
by pPoperty owners of this area. Same was filed.

Councilman Sani introduced a resolution adopting plans and specifications for the construct-
ion of a sewer between South Magnolia and South Spruce Aves. Same was adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members of the Council present.
RESOLUTION ~1217 Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution declaring the Cit~.s intention to construct a
INTENTION TO CON~- sanitary sewer from South Magnolia to South Spruce Ave. This resolution was adopted by
TRUCT SEWER ON RAIL- the unanimous vote of all members of the Council present.

BELAIR PROPERTY:
Mr. Peck, from the ~¥orks Engineer's office, stated there were no bidders for theBelair
property and there was a possibility the City might acquire the necessary property for
the constructio~ of a sewage disposal plant b2 applying to the War Assets Administration.

APPLICATION:
Councilman Elder introduced a resolution that the city make application to the War Assets
Administration Office of Real Property Disposal to acquire certain property. This
resolution was adopted by, the unanimous vote of all.members of the Council presen{.
'¥orks Engineer'stated he had received letter from Co~Skeggs, State Highway Division,
relative to right-of-way for Grand Ave. Underpass. Mot~n was duly made, seconded and ca

communication was'received ~rom Pacific Teie ~ Tole requesting permission toexcavate on
Orange Ave. Motion was duly made, seconded and carried that same be referred to the Works
Engineer for his'recommendation.
R. G. Shephard submitted an application for a business license .to conduct a rooming house
at ~00 Miller Ave. Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Sani that license be
granted R. G. ~hephard t° conduct rooming house o~ apartment at 400 Miller Ave. Motion
was regularly carried.,

On motion of Councilman Sani, seconded by Counci]aa~ Elder and regularly carried, meeting
was adjourned to June 2-19~7 at 8:00 p.m.
