Councilmam Elder moved, seconded by Council-;" Sani, that Councilman Nolston aet as Mayor
~n the absence of Mayor Ferkol Motion was regularly carried.

Coemamication was received from the Works ~gineer relative to work done by L. ¢. Smith in
Brentwood. This comemnication was ordor~ filed.
The Works ~ineere ~ecommended that the'~aperintendent of Streets grant permit to the Pac-
ific Telm &'~e to install a conduit on West Orange Ave. On motion duly made, seconded and
carried, the Works Engineers* recommendation was accepted and permit granted.
The Works Engineer submitted plan and cost estimate for sanitary sewer to serve area on the
north side of Mission Road at the upper end of Grand Ave. Motion was duly made, seconded,
and carried, that the City Attorney draw up the necessary paper~fer sewer on Mission Road
from the intersection of Grand Ave. and ~ission Road.

Hotel. Mo~iGn was duly made, seconded and carried, the permit be granted.
Superintendent of Streets Schweining r~c~em~nded the ps,chase and installation of a time
clock to be used by $ta~et Department employees. Motion was duly made, seconded and carried,
that the recommendation of Superintendent of Streets be accepted and time clock purchased.
Parker Neon Signs Products submitted cost estimates for neon sign on North Bayshore ~lvd.
the sum of $700 to $800, also cost estimate for repairing two neon signs at the city limits
on E1 Casino Real for the sum of $~90. Martin Signs s. ~ '~*~ a~ estie~t~ of $?O for wooden
sign. These estimates were laid over for l~a~her consideration
Comnmication was received from the Library Board submitting revised budget for 19~7-&8.

Peninsula ~vision, ~League of California Cities advised that meeting would be ~held Thursday,
~une 19, at Chattier' s, San Mateo. Action on same was laid over until next meeting.
Communication was received from Senator Parkman advising he ia giving his favorable c~tder-
ation to Senate Bills 1351 and 13~3. This communication was Sedered filed.
O~mmunioation was regeived from the Barrett Division Allied Chemical and Dye Corp., complain-
ing of drainage condition around his property. As this was a matter over which the City had
no Jurisdiction, City Clerk was instruct$~ to write these pe~ advising the~ that this was
a matter that they should take up with their neighboring property owners.
George G. Butcher submitted application to ee~ge in the business of.~ selling groceri~ and
cured meats at 339 E1 C_~m!no Real. Motion was du~y made, seconded and carried, that permit
be granted providing all health requirements are met.
Attorney Antonio J. Gaudio addressed a communication ct the City Council asking what action
had been taken regarding rezohing of Lot 72 and 73 in South City Village. City Attorney
Coleberd stated he had explained to Mr. Gaudio that the rezoning would be taken care of in t~,
new Planning ~e~vey. City Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Gaudio along these lines.
Evelyn Col]dna requested a 3C-day sick leave fro~ her office duties. Motion was duly made,
seconded and carried, t~t 3C-day sick leave be granted Evelyn Collins.
William V, arty, disabled war veteran, bubmitted application to engage in the business of
peddling pr~uce within the city limits. Motion was duly made, seconded and carried, that
permit be granted.
John Marchi addressed a communication %~ ~lre Chief Welts requesting two additional weeks
vacation without pay. As Fire Chief had approved marne, motion was duly made, seconded and
carried, that tm~ weeks leave without pay be granted John Marchi.
Atlas Lead Co. requested permit to install 550 gal. above ground Diesel storage and 5~O
underground gasoline storage at 158 $o. Linden. As the notice had been properly posted and
the necessary time had expired, motion was duly made, seconded and carried, that permit be
granted.
Chief of Police Belloni advised that commenci~ J~e I~t Officer Virgil Maffei would be en-
titled to a salary of $245 permaonth. Also that on May let Richard Canziani commenced work
as a Police Telephone and Radio Operator at$230 per month. Motion was duly made, seo~ndad
and carried, that the increas· insalary for Officer Mallei and the appointment of Richard
Canziani as a Telephone and Radio Operator b'.~ approved.
Building inspeetsr Rozzi submitted a report covering his ~indi~gs with regard to Tames
closure erected by Mr. Simons at Bayshore and Randolph Ave. Same was ordered filed.
Commmnication was received frma Charles T. Broughton..advising thst he had assigned all fees
dee as Engineer of Work on Bu~i Buri No. 1 to E. P. Wilsey and tendering his resignation as
Engineer of Work. Same was ordered filed.

Reports of the Chief of Police, City Judge, Building Inspector, Fire Chief, Department of
Public Health & ~lfare ~nd Poundkeeper, for the month of May were submitted. On motion dul2

Councilman Sani introduced a resolution Vacating Resolution of Intention No. 1217 relative

animous vote of all me~bere of the City Council ,present.
Councilman 0orteei introduced a resolution Declaring The~OitY's Intention To Construct A
Sanitary Sewer from South' Magnolia Ave. to SoUth Spruce Ave~ between the Baden Branch of the
Southern Pacific Railroad Co. and North Canal St. Thio resolution was adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members of the City Council present.
The Works Eagineer submitted Plane and sPecifications l~mOonvenience Station in ~range Ave,'
~ark. Same were held over.
The City Clerk was instructed to coe~Anicat,e with Mr. L, C. SeLl.th asking when he intended
starting work 'on SeCond 'Lane.
On motion of Council~an Sani, seconded by Councilman Cortesi, and regularly carried~ the
meeting was adjourned to June 16, 1927 at 8:00 o(clock p.m.
