Absent: Councilmen Emilio Cortesi
Meeting was called to order at 7:dO p.m.
Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with.
Resolution Amend~P~rsonn~l Rales was'h~ldove~.
~. S. Crocker Co. addressed two communications to the CityCouncml' ~equesting permission
to install and maintain railroad spur across land of the South San FranCisco Land &
Improvement Co. as per plans submitted to the WoEks Engineer. Mr. Peck, of the '~orks
Engineer's office, stated the plans were satisfactory, therefore, motion was duly made,
seconded and carried, that permit be granted and th~ H. S. Crocker Co. so advised by mail.
GouncilmanEmilio Cortesi arrived at 7:50 p.m.
City~t%orney Coleberd stated he was of the opinion that Orange Avenue could be considered
a twenty-five mile zone so had prepared a resolution along these l~nes.
CQuncilman Sani introduced a resolution directing the Chief of Police to post notices of
spe~d ltm~t of twenty-five milea per hour at .Railroad Avenue and Orange Avenue, and Orange
Avenue and E1 Camino Real. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all
members of the City Council.
The C. hief of Police suggested that a copy of this resolution ~e ~ailed to the California
State Automobile Association. The City Clerk was instructed to forward a copy of the
resolution to the California State Automobile Association.
City Attorney Coleberd brought up the matter of Constitutional Amendment No. l& pertaining
to Veterans Exemption. Motion was duly made, seconded and regularly carried, that wires
be sent to Assemblyme~n Dolwig and Senator Parkman requesting that they endeavor to get
this amendment before the people of the State.
Motion was duly made, seconded and carried, that minutes of the meeting of jUne 16th be
amended to read that Fred Becker be appointed to fill the unexpired term on the Recreation
Commission of Mr. Mahlst~dt.
The Division of Highways addressed a letter to the City Council stating the plans as
proposed for the Southwood shopping center adjacent to the Highway,,could not be approved
as submitted, but revised plans would be considered. This matter was referred to the
Works Engineer.
On motion of Councilman Elder,' seconded by Councilman Holston, the meeting was adjourned
to July 7, 19&7, at 8:00 P.a.
